Default Mantle Signed Photo

After posting a question about a Sandy Koufax autograph here, I realized that last year I purchased a Mantle from the same person. I'm still learning how to tell fake vs. real Mantle autographs apart, so if I'm out of the money then this is a valuable lesson. Thank you.

Take a look at any signature on any thread, and even a few of your own. Do any of them have the exact same thickness and darkness throughout the entire signature? No lighter spots where the pen was lifted and darker spots where the pen was firmly on the page? I can’t find any.

I'm not quite sure what that means. The lighting could've been thrown off by the camera I took the picture with, I'll try to upload a scan. Where the "I" and "C" connect in Mickey appears some overlapping. As if the marker was picked up after the first connecting part of the letter "C" is that what you are referring to?

That's a fair observation, I do know Mantle eventually had his "show" signature down to a science after doing so many of them. I have an authenticated Mantle Signature from JSA that I acquired at auction a few months ago and it looks nearly identical. This one was purchased before that though (stupidly) with me not seeing any sort of a COA from PSA or JSA beforehand. That's why I say live and learn, if this turns out to be fake.

Someone will chime in eventually. But what would be interesting is to see if your JSA authenticated signature is good.

I mean I would assume it is, I'll get around to posting it. I got it in one of the Uncle Jimmy Auctions from Wheatland. Seems like they did their due diligence with everything on that end.

That's because this is the Mick's "Cadillac" version. It's a beauty, IMHO
