Gene Upshaw passed at age 63
Superb Player

The "U" in the alphabet sports figures game with the kids. Sorry to hear this. He was way too young.

Default Another Raider Great Is Gone

Especially when it came to taking care of our football legends: He was a really good union head for those years he ran the union

1) From 1987 to the present -- there were no work stoppages

2) I don't have the numbers in front of me, and I'm not going to look them up, but the salary cap exploded since it was implemented. I believe the number is three times as high as it was in 1993. I'm sure that almost every working man or woman would be thrilled with a triple in the past 15 years.

3) Benefits such as a 401K guarantee and more guaranteed money for signing were part of what Upshaw accomplished.

4) Yes, I know about the retired players issue and there is no doubt that more should have been done for them. But before one spouts, one should know the facts

Regards
Rich
