I will be about an hour late and have very few cards with me, but what the heck, I'll be there to see some great cards and even better people.

Thank you Ryan and Andrew for putting this on.

Perhaps a ZOOM type of meeting could be set up at the venue, for those people interested but not attending?? If COVID taught us anything, it's how much fun it is to see people's double chins jiggling on your screen when the camera is approached from the wrong, overly close angle.

Bring whatever you want to trade/sell and whatever you want to show. Pretend you are 12 and going to your buddy’s house…

I'll be there. I'll bring assorted low grade caramels, a bunch of T210s, T206s including AB and BL backs, and prewar odds and ends.

I'm looking for binder grade caramels, T210s, T211, T217, rare backs.

Default For WaJo Fans

I'll be bringing many Type I WaJo photos from the scrapbooks and otherwise, including some great team photos and crowd shots from the 1924 World Series; also dozens of original WaJo snapshots from the scrapbooks as well as misc. memorabilia from my dealing days; and hardback copies of my book, out of print for 25 years, to sign. I hope there will be some cool old Washington memorabilia (pins, pennants, etc) in the room like the old D.C. shows, but I'm not really expecting any, since I don't see much anymore that I don't have. I'm pumped about this show, the first I've done in seven years. I think it will be great fun, exciting to meet and chat with some of the Net54 gang, and I have a suspicion that sales might be brisk. See you all in a couple days!

Default meet-up

I can't believe I just cancelled my room at Embassy Suites/Dulles because of health issue with my wife. I had planned to bring show&tell of NYAL material, including a focus on pre-war players with 1 game Yankee careers and selected other photos/postcards of obscure NYAL players
Germany Schaefer 1 game 1916 in a NYY uni; Queenie O'Rourke, son of Orator Jim O'Rourke 1908; Alex Burr 1 game 1914 died in France 1918; Joe Connor autograph younger brother of Roger Connor; Fred Glade RoseCo PC, Boardwalk Brown Lantern Slide, and a lot of other interesting stuff. But mostly wanted to meet some of you guys

Have a great time,

Yes, a big thank you to Andrew and Ryan for putting on an awesome event. I had a great time, and there was a ton of eye candy to be seen.

It was well worth the nearly five hour drive last night to be able to attend today, and I hope this happens again.

Cheers,

Thanks to everyone who came to the event today. I think it went really well. Not sure what the total graded pop of D304 Cobbs is, but 8 in one room isn’t too shabby!

Doesn’t look like I made it into anyone else’s photos but I promise I was there. I only took a couple of photos myself because I was too busy drooling at all of the fantastic cards. Thank you to our hosts for putting this together. It was a blast.

Scott, the other T204 Johnson in the photos is mine. Here is a better picture, but not for sale/trade.

Man. I wish I was able to make it. 6 months out of work and this was my second week back so it was tough.

Next time.

I had a great time! Thanks to Andrew and Ryan for setting it up. So many great cards and people to see, I'm already looking forward to the next one.

This was a really fun event and I'm glad I got to go! Glad to finally meet everyone and see all the fantastic cards! Even dragged my dad along and he had a blast even though he's not super in to cards. Hopefully there's another one again soon!

OMG, what fun that was! And I honestly don't believe there's ever been a National that had as many quality cards as this tiny show. Seriously. How about Dan McKee's complete 1910 Washington Times set for starters? Ryan's display was off the charts ridiculous, including an SGC 6.5 WaJo Ramly. Val's Holland Creamery 17/18 and 1924 National Photo 29/30! Babe Ruth gamer in the room--what can you say about that! Nice room, too, good food, and SO many beautiful cards. I even did some business, plenty enough to have made it worthwhile on that front alone. Lovely time chatting with Ryan's wife and many of the guys I knew from the old days or were meeting for the first time. Thanks Andrew and Ryan for making it happen.

Many kudos to Andrew & Ryan for organizing and hosting this most enjoyable event! What could be more fun than a room full of eye candy in the way of pre-War cards and memorabilia? I echo what others have said re hoping this will become an annual event.

Hank, it was great to see you again and to see your display of special stuff. The framed notebook cover of WaJo that I got from you will be hung on the wall of my man cave tomorrow.

A slight correction to your comment re my display. I had 17 of the 18 cards in the 1925 Holland Creameries set of the World Champion Senators. And, I had 29 of the set of 30 small photos of the 1924 Senators players (same pics as are in the Senators 1924 World Series program) produced by National Photo Co.

If I were to win a Make A Wish contest and had my choice of any card from all the spectacular cards in the room, my choice would be Dan Mckee's to-die-for 1910 Washington Times card of WaJo (those who know what I collect will understand why this would be my choice)!
