I switched over to Gavelsnipe.com and have been well pleased with it. No missed snipes and it's easy to use. Plus it's FREE!

First of all I use gavelsnipe.com ...it's free and works wonderfully.

The question is.....
How important is Sniping to everyone? I know I use it on almost all of my ebay bids now....regards

If you have an always on PC and internet connection, I'd suggest JBidWatcher. It's a program you install on your PC that snipes auctions for you. I've been using it for years now and have been quite happy with it.

I just started using it (Gavelsnipe) for things I am lukewarm about. I have to build up a trust factor before I let fire on stuff I really want. I know snipes work because too many times I lay victim to the salvo coming with a half dozen seconds or so left in the auction. If you can't beat em, join em.

I always use a snipe program on everything...If I am Jonesing for an item I will usually throw in my bid manually with about 10-20 seconds to go in case the snipe doesn't go off for some reason.

I use gavelsnipe, but somewhere around 1 in 20 snipes does not go through for me (for whatever reason, it doesn't place the bid).

auctionsniper.com - they charge a small few as well but they've never missed a snipe for me - been using them for years. It's mostly about convenience - I missed a few great auctions in the late 1990's because I wasn't around a computer to bid.

JustSnipe works perfectly for me. You get 5 free snipes per week, and an unlimited number if you pay a small fee. JustSnipe has never mis-fired for me yet.

Gixen works like a charm and it's free. If you pay $6, you also get fault tolerance with the addition of their mirror server and your snipes become most customizable.

I use ezsniper.com There is a small charge, but it works great. I think the fee is .10 a snipe and they only charge you if you win. I mainly use the snipping service because a lot of times I am not at my pc to place a bid and another reason is I do not want to get into a bidding war with other members. Keeps the price down...
