Default Final Four Time - Show your Vintage Basketball

I know there are a few vintage basketball collectors hidden amongst you. Would enjoy seeing what you have.

Here’s a large 1904 image of the Muscatine, Iowa Company C team. They were one of the stronger teams in the region at this early date. Some nice embellishments by the photographer.

Two Type 1 photos (5x7)]of Joe Lapchick and Pete Barry. From 1926 when the Celtics were known as Rosenblum's Celtics. They had won the ABL championship in 1926 bringing a title to Clevland home of Rosenblum's dept store.

Hey Jonathan. I know you’ve got some nice vintage basketball tucked away. Thanks for sharing.

Here’s the professional 1922 Brooklyn Pros team. Honey Russell, standing in middle, is in the HOF.

Rob nice photo. Brooklyn is the team the celtics beat for the championship in 26. I noticed the two holes on the left border of the photo did it come from some sort of album?

That’s how it came to me so not sure what it was formerly a part of.

Some more original Celtics items
First a program from a Banquet held to celebrate the 1926 championship.
Second a flyer sent to organizations interested in playing games against the Celtics it is from 1932-1933
Third a game program from March 1932
I am always in the Market for early Celtics items for my collection.

Default How’

Whoa, that first program, above, shows the "cage" built around the court. You don’t see a lot of those. For those that don’t know, that’s where the term "cager" came to be another name for basketball players.

Edited to add: The image below shows another example of a "cage" that was placed around the perimeter of the court.

This program for the 1968 U of Kentucky invitational Tournament. Is loaded with talent. Coaching talent. Starting with the Army team Coached by Robert M Knight and Captain Mike Krzyzewski. Michigan Center Rudy Tomjanovich. Oh and the Kentucky coach Adolph Rupp. That's a group of successful Basketball coaches.
A group of talented players led by Dan Issel who coached the Nuggets and still hold the scoring record at Kentucky.
