Default Need Some Pennant Help - 1966 All-Star Game

I recently bought a collection of cards and included was this 1966 All-Star Game pennant.

I haven't been able to track down much information. One source says they were only sold at the All-Star Game. true/false?

I'm guessing it's a rarer all star pennant since I can only find one example of one being sold.

All information is appreciated.

Eric
The only help I can give you is it is listed in Mike Egner's pennant guide... Maybe some of the pennant collectors will help out. Hope that helps a little...

Yes, I would say Mike Egner's Guide price holds up well for this pennant. That valuation is still pretty spot-on. It's not one of the super rare ones...

With regard to your specific example, it would be at the lower end of that range, due to the spine wear and soiling/spotting. I would value yours at about $110 - $125.

There are some enterprising collectors here that may recommend bleaching it, to make it more white and eliminate the spotting. But that might be a risky venture, given the red graphics and the propensity for that particular color paint to bleed. I would personally leave it as-is, since it's still pretty attractive.

Hope this helps!

I’m the original “bleacher” but I say NO WAY, due to the red graphics!

Interesting pennant. I see where it lists Mantle as an all-star, and 1966 was basically the only year he was not one. Then it fails to include the hometown club's Tim McCarver for some reason, in the one of only two AS games he played. It also lists someone named McCord on the AL squad, whoever that might be-- maybe they meant Sam McDowell?

Although a wee lad, I distinctly remember how damn hot it was when they played that game.

Default 1966 AS Pennant

Eric, not sure i have any details but I too have. 1966 AS Pennant. I am trying to find all AS Pennants featuring Brooks Robinson name between 1960-1974. I do not believe 1960 and 1961 featured his name. I have 1965,66, 70, 72 and 72. You have any others? My email address is charles.strite@yahoo.com
