'69 Lou Brock Topps #85
Curious why this card is so much? In an 8 and above, price is almost 8-9 times what a 7 goes for. Short print? Scarce? Harder to get in high grade?

This card is notoriously tough to find well centered which is a large reason for the premium price.

The seller has a huge following and that probably didn't hurt!

I read an article once that featured this and several other "common cards" that sell very high in premium condition. As savedfrommyspokes stated, it's very tough to find in 8 or above. Another card I remember being mentioned is the '62 Topps Frank Robinson.

I believe the Brock card is located on the upper left hand corner of the printing sheet
which is notorious for producing cards that are off center. Last edited by mojorob; 08-14-2013 at 09:26 AM. |

That's a highly questionable 8, in my opinion. Top-to-bottom centering looks like 7 territory to me.
