Hi, I am new to the forum. I aquired what the seller referred to as a "type block." it appears to be some sort of template as can be seen in the picture. It says "1923" and "Athletics," presumably the philadelphia athletics. Has anyone ever seen something like this, let alone put a value on it? |

It's an old printing block used in the printing of something like a book, magazine or such. The printing plates like this were usually metal with wood backing. |

Thanks. How much do you think it is worth? |

I don't know. Though relatively rare, those types of items don't usually sell for a lot due to the obscurity factor. The date and Athletics are good, as most of these items have no date and the team names makes it a bit less generic. Most times, you know its old but can't be certain of the decade much less the year. Having the date on yours is an uncommon luxury. |
