Default Anyone collect "News of the Reds" newsletters

Most ball clubs had newsletters that they printed up during the year to keep fans up to date about the team, minor leagues and upcoming games. There was "Giants Jottings," "White Sox Yarns," "Chicago Cubs News," Line Drives from the Dodgers," "Yank," even the Browns had "Browns Express."

I'm a big fan of the 1935-1941 Cincinnati Reds and pick up "News of the Reds" whenever I can find them cheap. They are a goldmine for minor league news and contemporary rundowns of all the teams in the league.

Does anyone else collect these, and would you be interesting in trading scans of them? I'd eventually like to collect scans of the 1937-1945 editions for reference.

Here's a 1939 and 1944 edition:

I have two from 1936 that will be in the Spring LOTG auction. 4/25 and 5/1.

I don't think I've seen one from 1936. Please put a link up when the auction opens

Not sure if you're looking for only Reds...but.. if you're looking for others like Dodgers...I'd PM Doug Goodman...he got me hooked on Dodgers Line Drives. He has an extremely impressive collection of them.

Those MLB team newsletters have so much valuable information that helps us collectors out. Really fun hobby item IMO

I'm just interested in the Reds right now - but I did happen upon a stack of 8 "CUBS NEWS" from 1939. Like you said, "team newsletters have so much valuable information that helps us collectors out" and like the Reds, these have run downs of all the NL teams the Cubs were going to face at the time. Great stuff!
