Default T-206 What do you guys think about a card like this one...

1909 T206 PIEDMONT CHRISTY MATHEWSON DARK CAP PSA 2 GOOD

Link:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/171014039191?...84.m1423.l2649

What would be a fair offer on such a card with the vision trouble on the players name?

Does this type of issue affect the value a lot?

I'm sure the flaw greatly impacts the cards value. Great looking card otherwise. Dave.

Default From the Description

The "flaw" that earns the PSA 2 technical grade is the fading near "The Christian Gentleman's" name which in no way detracts from the overall beauty of this classic issue.

That's certainly a matter of opinion.

It means that I certainly think that the fading detracts considerably from the overall beauty of the card. That's just this man's opinion.

The fading definitely detracts from the card's beauty IMO, but if this issue was on the back, it would be much more tolerable.

I agree with everyone else, that fading (it looks like an erasure) detracts considerably from the card's beauty and value.

I agree with Sean and iwantitiwinit. That is no erasure unless the term was used loosely and in general. Personally, I think everyone should own at least a dozen cards with various demerits, just for comparison and edification. But not at that price. You could do better with 'normal' wear at a lower condition.

I would pay a few bucks for it because I have a small budget and that is normally an expensive card.

Agreed. I have hundreds of cards with problems~~and that Matty was a bit much for a 2 AND the loss of letters is a big distraction...

Agreed! For me, the fronts are where the artwork is displayed. I have a problem with major flaws on the front. For the most part, I don't care what is on the back, unless I'm putting together a master set that requires the T206 backs to be visible so that they can be distinguished from their counterparts.

I'd only pay 1 to 1.5 money for that Mathewson.
