Default Too much money, Not enough cents (sic)

I know that a person can spend his money any way that he wants. But this is ridiculous

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=55917&item=5190330667&rd=1

Can you imagine spending over $1500 on a 50 year old card of that great baseball immortal Jim Finigan? It books at $10!

Cy

Now, now, must I remind everybody that this board is for pre war cards? Enough of this modern trash. And Leon, I am ashamed of you even taking part in this discussion.

My reaction to seeing a price like that is always to:

1. Laugh

2. Be thankful that these guys are spending their money on PSA 9 Wayne Terwilligers rather than on driving prices up even more on things that I like

3. Repeat step 1 over and over again

He didn't buy the card, he bought the slab. Very sad, that is a few dollar card in any condition. I can't wait til the bottom drops out on the graded trash.

Why is there so much hatred towards non-pre-war high grade slabbed cards? Obviously the people interested in this card want it to have a 1 of 1, to increase the GPA on their set. Is that wrong? Its as wrong as paying $20,000 for a 1934 Goudey PSA 9, yet I don't see any complaints about that here.
