Just to be different, I say the grader overlooked the tape stain and gave it a “6”

Beautiful centering for the issue.

Due to the surface paper loss from the lifting of the tape I agree with the Authentic Altered that has been mentioned.

If that was not there and the tape had fallen naturally vs removed, this could have been a 4 st or better.

Still a wonderful collection addition, nice!

Thanks Pete but that is not my "Game"! I grew up on "Antiques Roadshow" and just leave things as they are. It has done well for me! Let the card doctors drool! lol

Nice card---- i agree its gets a Auth/Alter
but playing along----nobody guessed the dreaded NQ (just saying it might been sandwiched and a big woman sat on it.

That made me laugh out loud Chris. I know the Brooklyn Dodgers had Hilda Chester but not sure of any large Cleveland Indian female fans?

The card is being overnighted to me as we speak! I am resisting looking at the grade as I want to see it fresh out of the box! Anticipation!!!

Peace, Mike

Default Ughhhhhh....

I just got a text with the dreaded "Exception Delay" so most likely tomorrow now! I was upset and thought I was texting my friend how upset I was and realized I was texting the UPS message I had just received.......oh boy.........if a real person at UPS reads that text, they will keep the card for sure! I took the day off to wait for it.......now ughhhhhh!

Peace, Mike

Default Morose tonite!

Just my luck........... the best card I've ever sent to PSA........delayed with no explanation from UPS! Ugghhhhhhhhh..........tried calling and could not talk to rep. Must be that time of year!

Still taking guesses until I get this card back..........waiting to open he package before I see the grade! It's killing me! ughhhhhhhh What is strange is yesterday it said it was in NH at like 11am. Now that update is off the site and it just says "delayed". Should I be worried?

Hoping and praying to have the grade tomorrow!

Peace, Mike

PS I thought USPS was bad, now add UPS to that list!

Default List of entries.......

I'll list the grade and screenname and 1st guess only of each grade since only that can be a winner and a couple interesting tidbits about some of the guesses:

PSA Altered Exhibitman
PSA Authentic BearBailey
PSA Authentic/Altered Tyruscobb 6 others voted also - hope they are wrong!
PSA 1 SinkerSlider
PSA 1.5 3-2-count 4 votes with a ST qualifier also included (WINNER!!!!!!!, please message me your address!)
PSA 1.5 ST Browns1981
PSA 2 ST BabyRuth
PSA 2 Seven
PSA 2.5 ST Belfast1933
PSA 3 HawkFan70
PSA 3 ST Frankbmd
PSA 3MK Ricky
PSA 3.5 RL
PSA 3.5 ST GasHouseGang
PSA 4 MK pokerplyr80
PSA 4 Geo Poto
PSA 4.5 vansaad
PSA 4 ST deeg23
PSA 5 Schlesinj
PSA 5 ST timber63401
PSA 5.5 MK ullmandds
PSA 5.5 AndrewJerome
PSA 6 oldeboo
PSA 6 ST swarmee
PSA 6.5 chalupacollects
PSA 6.5 ST wid-conroy
PSA 7 MK Fred
PSA 7 ST bigfish

So....I know I'm dreaming but I hope the 2 members that picked 7 are right! I also notice some missing grades with PSA 5.5 being the most obvious!
You can still vote up until I post a pic of the card out of the PSA Box hopefully Wednesday afternoon! Remember, only 1 winner and it's the 1st that guesses so if you see it up on the list, guess somethig else!

Peace, Mike

Awesome. You should be thrilled. Quick question; did you submit as “don’t use a qualifier” or did they just assign this grade?

Default Good question.....

Gary,

I checked the No Qualifier box and wrote a note in the comments also.

Sometimes as you know they will still assign a Qualifier such as MC even when you ask them not to. I think the "eye appeal" and the fact that the tape is obviously old and not malicious was a factor! Not sure though!

I am thrilled! Thanks for all the comments and the guesses!

Peace, Mike

A card like that really doesn't matter if it had a qualifier or not. It is still gonna bring the coin.

Original owner collection, all had tape. This card was the "prize". I am good at "finding cards". Been doing it since 1976. Have found original owner 1957-58 Topps Basketball, 1948 Bowman Basketball low numbers, multiple Babe Ruth baseballs, T206s, T207s, all from New England. I use word of mouth and aggressive use of friend to friend constant reminding. Always looking! Some of these finds were with a friend who is also very aggressive at asking anyone and everyone we interact with! Little bit of luck and instinct. It serves me well when I collect celebrity baseballs also. Covidd has put a damper on my methods but there is so much uncovered stuff out there! Trust me!

Thanks! Mike
