Default September pickups

Great stuff from Clean Sweep last month. Here are a few faves I picked up.

1) Ernie I've been waiting for for a while. I was hoping for one with the periods like I use, but this will have to do

2) How can you not love the name Phenomenal Smith??

3) For my WWII collection, Robin Roberts' discharge papers. Think someone lost a pile flipping this from Hunt.

Default NYT T. Kepner

An oddball item i'll tuck in here...

Family friends with the Kepner's, whose son, Tyler, is the New York Times' national baseball writer. In the late 80s/early 90s, he self-published his own baseball periodical, to which my family subscribed. Hard to tell you how many of these I *ruined* as an elementary school student. Several years ago, when promoting his book "K", he was gracious enough to sign several surviving copies...

Default 1939 Lefty Grove signed GPC

I just picked up this HOF Lefty Grove 1939 signed GPC.
This is the nicest signed Grove GPC that I have ever come across.
Grove beautifully signed the GPC in fountain pen using his better signature that features really nice flow with flourish.
IMHO, the extra added typed bio on Grove and picture put it over the top.

Nice stuff as usual Stuart!

I still don't have a full name Wagner signed but did pick up a written postcard.

That one is over-the-top cool, Scott, it's got everything! Even the picture is unusual and wonderful; it's from his playing days; and that autograph is the best Grove anybody has ever seen. Fantastic pickup!

Default Dutch Jordan

Excited to add a 1908 letter from A.O. "Dutch" Jordan regarding a former teammate Phil Sitton who played with him in Atlanta. Dutch had a brief major league career from 1903-1904 but is included in the T206 set.

Default Christy x2

One of my most expensive purchases ever. The 2nd picture I have had for awhile and might think of trading for a signed card I need of equal value. Possibly a autograph not on a card of a HOFer I need but I have most of the easier ones. I'm keeping the double signed one

Picked up two tough Deadball era autographs this week. One being Otto Pep Deininger and a full letter signed by Charles V. Moran.
