Default Insurance for collection

I am going to have a collection in my possession for maybe 6 months that is going to be sold. value is high enough that I am thinking I should take out a policy.

Found American Collector's Insurance. Anyone have experience with them or have ideas about best alternatives? Thanks.

Default Insurance

I go through Antiques & Collectibles Insurance Group in Davidson, NC - just paid $569 for $200,000 of coverage for 1 year.

Probably get a decent .30-06 and at a decent price and set up a sniper nest. I guess that only covers theft, though.

I would imagine that you can add it onto your homeowners insurance for the lowest cost.

Homeowners will only cover a small portion of it. Anywhere from $1,000 to $15,000 based off of the policy and that doesn't include the deductible that could be $1,000. You would have to have a possible total loss for it to be realistically covered.

Default insurance payout unlikely

you can pay for all the insurance you like and the insurance company will gladly take your premiums , how ever they will make you jump through hoops and potentially deny claim , if you cannot provide them with pictures a comprehensive list and appraisal from a registered reputable Memorabilia appraiser , good luck finding one . Find a bank drive 50 miles if need be with available boxes they may require Opening an account with a minimum balance.
