Which of these sets should I dabble with?
Posted By: Dave F
Well, I have ruled out the E98's....so it is between the T204's and the E97's...I'll keep one and try to acquire a few more, and the other I'll probably move...which would you keep and go after? I know neither of these cards are especially difficult to come by, so that shouldn't make much of a difference. |

Personal opinion is to go with the E97 set. I like the appearance of the cards |

I think t204's are much better looking cards, just make it a VERY long and slow project. |

Unless you can find/afford a large lot of either set, you are in for a long wait for completion. My personal preference is the 97s but I do like the Ramly's as well. If you choose the 97s, my experience is that the first 12-15 cards will come fairly easily. Then it gets tough. The next 5-10 are very difficult and the remainder are even worse. I have been collecting the set on and off for about 4 years and I still need 7 cards, not including the variations. |

Both sets have seen an upsurge lately. If you are looking for cards in vg or better shape, I'd go with the Ramlys. |

Wow....seems pretty much 50/50. I have no intent on trying to complete either set, that is unrealistic for me...its more to just pick one of the two to possibly gain a few more examples of. The question may be if I'm looking at either set in say PSA 3 or SGC 40 range...would what I expect to pay for commons on the average? Its been hard for me to nail down a price for that as what I've looked at seems to be all over the board in those grades. |

T204s are more attractive. Plus the player selection in the E97 set is pretty weak. |

On average for PSA 3 or SGC 40 e97's expect to pay a little more than you paid for the Moore. I'd estimate $275 to $325 each in those grades. |

Thanks for the opinion Zinn. Was sort of the ballpark I was thinking...or close, $200-300. I do think the Ramly's might be a little higher in the same grade? |

looks like t204's in sgc 40 have been going for roughly 225-275 recently on Ebay according to vintagecardprices.com |

Joe, I would have agreed with you until I actually received the Ramly in hand. It's the first I've ever actually had in front of me...and to be honest it made quite the impression...from all the scans I've ever seen I'd agree it didn't look that attractive to me. |

It seems our interests are in lock-step with each other. Ramly's have never excited me. Just a little too boring for my refined taste. |

But the advantage with Ramly's is if you get bored with them, you can paper your bathroom with the cards. |
