Scott,
the commentary by the seller sure is odd.
reads like one of those long winded 'dog ate my homework' stories when
I was one of those 'green' profs.
the title of his entry containing 'what the f...' didn't help matters much.
my inner self says run, even if the card is real.

all the best,

barry

Scott,

Great Eye. I don't think anybody can tell 100% from a scan but the left edge looks trimmed to me. He did disclose that PSA kicked the card.

...and the scan makes the card look like it's mint, which means that there is definitely something wrong with the card that you can't pick up from the scan alone. At $500-$700 it might be worth a gamble. Above that you're probably better off just sucking it up and getting an SGC 50 on your own...

I liked the orange color but here is my problem with it...seller states it is the same PSA 4 card shown on his "About Me" page. When you look at the card he references, the resolution is not good enough to determine if the card is one in the same as the card in the auction. What you will note is that the PSA 4 Cobb is a vibrant red while the Ebay card is orangish. If the card is orangish then the card is not the same PSA 4 card he references. If the cards are the same then the color in his ebay photo is bad.

Scott, I've read many of your posts and I don't find you odd at all.

On a more serious note, the Cobb looks a lot better than a 4. I saw it in the holder on his me page and it looks to be the same card. But those are the chances you take when you crack and re submit. Although I can't see how it was a 4 in the first submission. If it was deemed legit and un altered it looks like a 6 or possible a 7 .Just my penny and a half.

I believe I have bought from this guy in the past, but when I saw this card there was something about the color (both the glowing white borders and the orange background that I just didn't like) that made me run. I noticed the small spot (printer defect) under his eye on the auction scan and tried to match it to the graded version in the "about me" page. The picture in his about me is a little to small to conclusively say that it is not on that version.

Scott

I'd stay clear from this lot. If you check-out this seller's
profile, he has sold on ebay everything else but BB cards.
To me that is the first indicator that there is a high prob-
ability that this Cobb is not a real original. The other in-
dicators have already been noted in the above posts on this
Thread.
Just some cautionary advice from your old Philly Show buddy.

Thanks T-rEX,

I was not going to buy. At least this one, way to many red flags involved. Plus unfortunatly i need to liquidate some stuff before my wife takes the credit card and does some "get even damage" at home depot.
