Default Dernell Stenson - Personal Collection - Red Sox and Reds

I collect Dernell Stenson. He was drafted by the Red Sox in 1996 and played in their organization until 2002. He played 2003 with the Reds and was tragically murdered that November while playing in the Arizona Fall League after finally getting called up to the bigs during the late summer of 2003.
I played high school baseball with Dernell. He was 2 years older than me.

I currently possess roughly 110 of his 126-ish issued cards. The ones I lack are some of the low print run issues which shouldn’t surprise anyone. I have been fortunate to find several over the years.

With that being said, I’m willing to buy/trade for any serial numbered cardof his that is numbered to 250 or less. He has several that are higher than 250 but I’m good on those.

Thanks for any feedback. I picked up a card a few weeks back that I had never seen or heard of. I’ll try to post a pic. It looks like someone printed cards celebrating “10 Great Seasons of Battlecat Baseball”. The Michigan Battlecats were the first minor league team Dernell played on. They issued cards commemorating good players that had came through and played for that minor league team. All I can tell is the cards were made after 2003 because it mentions him getting called up. This set is not listed on TCDB from what I can tell.

The correct place to post a Buy/Sell/Trade ad is here:

You are in the Post War discussion forum, which is intended for discussing baseball cards between 1945 and 1980.

I was a Bot Boy for the Chattanooga Lookouts during his tenure with the team. I have at least 1 Game-Used Jersey of his, if you're interested (I need to find it, think its in storage but going soon)

I also have these (among other autos), I think they're pretty rare given the release of the 2003 Team Set (Late Aug/Early Sept) and his death that November. I'd be willing to move 1 if you're interested:

Yes, I'm interested in one of the Grandstand Autos and the jersey if we can come to an agreement on terms. Please keep me posted.

Thanks - I keep putting my messages in the wrong place. Will be more careful going forward.

Will do - give me a couple days (need to go for Xmas Decorations) and I'll send you a PM once I have the jersey in hand
