And my Campos. No black star nor missing border, however, but wish it had one of those.
Any front missing border/black star on back cards around or is it just one or the other with these variations?

Mr. Aloma, with a hint of another printing line in the lower right.
I have no idea how rare these are or if they are on the H&S list, however, and since I forget what page that list is on, I'll wait for Al to tell me/us.

Card #310. The last card before the highs begin tomorrow.
Unfortunately on my copy, George has a big scratch coming out his right nostril.

OK, one last hurrah before I have to bow out as we enter the high numbers (of which I have none). Catching up after a few days away. I'm going to continue to enjoy what you guys will be posting!

Sorry but I forgot to put this one up. The border break seems to be a constant but some versions have a red line in bottom front right border. The line is red in hand

My Mantle. I don't remember who or when I got many of my cards from, but I know I bought the Mantle from Kit Young Cards in 1998 or 1999. At the time, I couldn't believe I was spending so much on a single card, but looking back now, I'm glad I did.

Back, approximately 35 yrs ago now, or more, my father gave me 148 1952 Topps cards, and of all the cards he gave me, unfortunately, the Mickey Mantle card was the one that was in the worst shape. Certainly not complaining but of all the cards...........

Dale, still a nice looking Mantle. There are a lot worse places that the paper loss could have been. Besides, once Bob posts his Mantle, no one will be looking at ours anyway.

In it's last published Standard Catalog SCD recognized the 52 Mantle and Thompson and Robinson as variations due to the fact they were double printed and had front and back differences. On all three the most basic differences are that the stiches on the baseballs on the back run either right or left. But all 3 have front differences as well. On the Mantle the easiest front differences for me are either the truncated or not truncated e in the auto and the straight or wavy stars on the top of the box

I have still been following the thread, but yes I did get s very fair offer on my set. I miss the daily participation here for sure. That said, I'll be watching all of the wonderful card posts each day from the sidelines. Happy to see the thread live on...would be cool to keep it going with people's upgrades after all 411 cards have been posted.

407 if you're scoring at home (or even if you're by yourself )

Everyone had 311 on the brain yesterday, Ethan, so it was an easy to make mistake.

Mr. Robinson for today.

Robinson was the 2nd DP high number. Back stiches go left or right and one on right has green line under bottom stars and yellow outside the stars on right of box ( easier to see in hand)
