I just got this photo and I was hoping someone could help me identify the players (other than Ruth) and maybe the occasion. Thanks much.

David R.

The occasion is the 1934 All Star Game.

Heinie Manush far left in the Washington uniform.
Sam West in St Louis Browns uniform
Al Simmons -White Sox
Babe Ruth
Ben Chapman - standing next to Ruth in Yankee uniform.
Earl Averill far right.

That's all of them and I'm 99.9% sure on all of them.

Dan,
You are good. And way to fast! Now for your bonus question who is the cop in the picture in back of Ruth! LOL

Don't know who the cop is, but I could swear the priest to the left of Manush is Karl Malden

Thanks Dan. You're amazing. Here's another one I just got. I didn't realize Ruth ever wore Dodger blue.

This is the original caption for your Ruth photo. It was on Corbis.

Title: Babe Ruth and Friends Conversing

Original caption: New York City: Dodgers' Quartette Eludes The Heat With Song. Despite the broiling sun, this Brooklyn Dodgers' quartette burst into song and forgot about the heat as they relaxed at the Polo Grounds, August 16th, where the Dodgers beat the Giants, 7-3. Left to Right: Tuck Stainback, Buddy Hassett, Kiki Cuyler and Babe Ruth.

Ruth's last job in professional baseball was as a Dodger coach. (Note the 1939 World's fair patch on his left sleeve.)
He quit when Durocher was made manager.
