How can this be? This guy has three cards in psa holders and is saying that not only are the cards fake but the holders are also fake. Has anybody seen any fake holders at all? I guess this one shows that they are fake for sure. There was never a 1955 Topps Micky Mantle card. Rob http://cgi.ebay.com/1955-MICKEY-MANTLE_W0QQitemZ170011414864QQihZ007QQcategoryZ604 83QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

If you go to PSA and type in the cert.#, it lists the card as a PSA 9 '55 Bowman Mantle. That kind of sucks that they are selling these. no doubt someday that card will be sold as real, and unless it is obviously fake, someone will get screwed.

Name of seller says it all
Nice feedback too.

Clearly a better scam. He may be a thief,,,,,,, but he is honest about it.

Top two bidders + seller have zero feedback. I'd say this is only chapter 1 of this scam. Stay tuned.

Isn't it just as likely the card in the picture is genuine(after all the cert# checks out)... It could be a case of someone putting this auction up hoping to get $50 or something from the picture alone (stolen pic?). Isn't that another scam people do? Perhaps he feels less guilty scamming someone who might have intentions to scam themselves? Or less guilty scamming for $50 then $2000.

I wonder, could these be cut from the inserts in one of those Krause Publications magazines circa 1990? Maybe not, but the whole "imagine if" style sure reminds me of them.

Why would the PSA website have these cards registered? The auction doesn't even claim the PSA holder is authentic,so I know I'm not following.

There was a 55 Bowman Mantle issued, which is what this card is or pretends to be.

He doesnt own this card ...the scan must be lifted from somewhere on the net.

He will send something, "if" he even sends anything at all.

But...its refreshing to see a seller offer FREE SHIPPING!!!

The cards are fake and the holders are tampered with and the flip is doctored or are fakes designed to look authentic. These cards have been around for a couple months, there was a thread about them on the eBay message board where a guy was asking if it would be OK to auction them (PSA-9 1956 Mantle), and I remember people were really ticked off, more at the doctored holder than at the reprint card.

It a long read, but it shows that these fake card/doctored slabs have been around.....
