Need Help with vintage photo: Anyone heard of Buffalo Ramblers?
Posted By: Keith
I picked up this 1911 basketball photo a while back of a team called the Ramblers from Buffalo. 2 of the players have an old english style B on their chest, the rest have Ramblers stitched onto their jerseys. In front of them is a trophy basketball painted World Champions 1911. Their uniforms look well made, and this doesn't appear to be a rag tag team. A little google research shows a German Buffalo Ramblers beat an All-Syracuse team in 1911 to be World Champs, but I have not got further than that. The photo is pretty big, 14 x 11, and it was hard for me to get a good image of it. The photographer is Kramer of Buffalo NY, and is signed on the front in ink by the photographer and is stamped by him on the back. The photo at some point was broken in half at some point, but was professionaly restored. |
