Other irregularities notwithstanding, and there are always exceptions to the rule, - but usually when you see this, everything on the same plane, its not a good sign.

Again, there are exceptions to the rule, but real ones like the one below usually have a point near the end of the autograph, much of the time the final e in mantle, that will dip below that line. Even the ones that might line up pretty good, still don't have that uniform 'feel' of the fake one where it is all on a line and doesn't look spontaneous.

Also notice the t in mantle really 'pulls' on the next letter, much more than the fake, where the stroke comes down right away and falls in line with the plodding uniformity of the signature. In the real one, it's much more horizontal and 'wild' as it flows into the l in Mantle.

Nicely done Travis...THANKS for chiming in on Mantle, a first!

Analysis right on the money IMO, the Mantle is a poor, pathetic attempt at a forgery.
