Nice Pickup Brock, a nice pair of those just went of on ebay last week. Similar condition to yours, but had their supporting back piece. I believe they went for about 875.

I am pretty pumped about my latest pickup. It is a circa 1914-1915 Baltimore Terrapins Federal League pennant. It is 35 inches long with the tassles and is in great shape with a sharp tip and its original tassles. The only flaw I can find is a moderate crack in the turtle in one area. I don't have much experience/knowledge about Federal League Pennants, but I do believe they are pretty rare.

Thanks Keith. I was surprised to see the ebay auction with both the pitcher and batter. The pitcher is much harder to find than the batter and the pair selling together is a real rarity.

Now to your item. What a pennant!!! Where the in the world did you get that gem. Great find. Congrats

Those are two very nice items. Keith, I know Mastro sold a pennant similar to the one you have, but without the Federals on top. It's in the April, 2002 catalog on page 155. Very cool indeed. The minimum was a $1000.

Thanks guys, I've had a good month in my finds. Wow! Mike, I knew this was a rare pennant, but I had no idea it could approach a number like that. I don't have Mastro catalogs that date back to 02, so if you find a definite ending price, please let me know. As to where I found it, it was an ebay find hidden amongst 4 other circa 1910 Baltimore pennants.

Roy Gleason, might require a bit of an explanation...

he was on the Dodgers 1963 championship team. he had exactly one at bat in the majors, he hit a double...here is his game-used bat. he went on to fight in Vietnam and won the Purple Heart!

The delivery man has been pretty good to me the last few days. Got this Spalding ring bat today. Stamping and ring aren't very strong but the wood grain on this bat is beautiful.

Mark, congrats on a bargain as well. I think we are going to continue to see low prices for quite a while. Were you as surprised as I was at the low realized prices on the Tacoma and Athletics pennants? Someone took a beating on that sale.

YES... I was very surprised at the low prices realized. It took all the restraint I could muster NOT to bid on the Tacoma Tigers and Athletics (sewn graphics) Pennants. I know that both of these sold for right around $1,000 in past Ebay transactions.

I might still have gone after the Sewn Athletics pennant, but the moth damage looked a bit worse this time, and I have already bought waaaaay too much lately.

Someone got a very nice deal on both of those... the other 3/4 Athletics Pennant (with the side view of the Elephant) had no condition issues, and sold for just what it should, IMO.

Mike, yea I was psyched to get the SP bank for that price. Often when I get a bargain on something I will tell myself I will resale it for a profit but when I get it in hand I just can't let it go. It's a sickness. But luckily I already have this same bank so it should not be a problem this time around.

ROWING PLAQUE: 22" TALL X 14 1/2" WIDE
GOLFER: 9 1/2" TALL
Here's a 1920 rowing trophy plaque that arrived yesterday. It's for an intermediate weight 8 oared boat race that was put on by the Middle States Rowing Association (founded in 1890, http://books.google.com/books?id=K40MAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA672&lpg=PA672&dq=middle+states+regatta+association&source=web&ots=lT-tTy3-7m&sig=w4LGUOkh99LXgXSmTQSTt0gqu78&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=2&ct=result)
and took place somewhere in N.Y State, and was won by the Norton Boat Club. I ascertained by the link below that the Norton Boat Club was out of Worcester Massachusetts. This is the 4th rowing plaque I've gotten over 20 years. I like the oar sticking out over the top. If you read page 1 of my 2007 National Story,

there's a part where I'm at Philadelphia's Boathouse Row and I got to go up stairs in the Malta Boathouse for a couple of minutes, but since they just shellacked the floor we couldn't stay long...I was dying to take photos but did get off one shot of a plaque on the wall...it was a crummy/fuzzy shot but it was another example of mine. I'll post that one at the very bottom

I'm also posting photos of a golf ashtray/change dish I got a while back....the guy sent it without the glass insert that was pictured in the eBay listing...said he'd send it and finally got it today only to find he sent the wrong insert...too big....I've seen this figure before a few times. I have a sliver plate trophy with the same golfer...I think the caddy is based on a large concrete one at Pinehurst or some big name course. This is the only example of this tray I've seen though...

Joe, What a great trophy...which prompted me to look to see why I didn't post it as a top pick in my last Leland's preview...internet auction ay?....I always keep my eye out for those types of basketball trophies....it seems like the ones with the metal base like yours are usually smaller ones...yours is one of the nicest condition, best looking ones I've seen...and whoa, did you steal it!!!...Who was the maker? Does that say Wilson Sporting Goods Co. in the little scroll banner at the bottom?....I wonder if the winner "First National Bank" fielded there own bank employees? or they sponsored the team?...any indication what city?...looks great in the line up shot too...Nice going Joe!

Thanks Carlton! The maker is Wallace Brothers Co. The company in the banner says "Triangle Sporting Goods Co." Not sure where they are located. There is no city listed, but wherever Triangle is might be an indication. Thanks Again!!

Picked up this mask the other day. The padding is in amazing condition and has the head-strap with original Spalding tag. No rust on the cage. Could of been perfect but the cage is bent way more than I was expecting. Seller didn't mention the damage but overall I am happy with it.

Just got this today, plastic, 6 1/2" tall...I think it may have been produced by Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, that did all the crazy car stuff in the 60's, Rat Fink etc. I'm not sure if it's a model or just a figure. Looks like someone painted it green at some point. I notice pretty much anything sports related that's figural...and it's the first one I recall ever seeing.

Hi-
I recently picked up the two programs scanned below. The 1885 program cost me a little more than my usual finds, but I really enjoy owning a pre 1900 scorecard (and it wasn't as expensive as it could have been, because of the tape holding the two pages together). It is from the Eastern League, and while there are no Hall of Famers, many of the players on both teams made it to the Majors at least briefly.
The second scorecard was a Brimfield find (5.00) last week. It shows a group of doctors versus a group of lawyers, and it is from 1902. The game was played at a ballpark in New Hampshire that also hosted early minor league games. I really like how both teams are pictured in their work attire. As usualy, any additional information about either of these programs would be greatly appreciated.
