Thanks Paul-

Fortunately for me it didn't have corners. I figure those corners could have cost quite a bit more.

I was just busting your chops Dave. It's a lot nicer than the imaginary one that I don't even have.

Dave,

If I am counting correctly, I think your Jackson has eight corners... I think that makes it even more valuable! Nice pick-up

Dave --

I had this in my dupes box - I'll trade it to you for a T202...

Take Care,

Nice card... I've been looking for a low grade PSA one myself... anyone have a suggestion on where to find it?

Geno-

Dang. And to think if I only had a T202.

I'd just appreicate some notice if you put those four corners in any of the auction houses..I could prepare easier with some time.

Oh...and Quan-

Nice move...you totally made my card look like a common T206. I was wondering how long it would be before I saw something publicly from you saying you had that card now.

The above T209 Sharp card is very interesting. Though the card exhibits great clarity, the bat being held by Sharp is distorted.

I compared my Sharp, Goldsboro card and in it the player is holding a perfectly straight bat. The card is in a much lower grade but the bat lacks any distortion. Other than the bat, when compared, both my card and the card posted above are identical.

Zach- I fooled with the scanner settings and made the bat look a little distorted. Here is a different scan...(sorry to hog the thread but I wanted to make sure there wasn't a falsehood perpetuated..)

Nice Shoes up there guys!

M114 Black Sox.
I would imagine pre-pennant as most of the M114 team posters are labeled "NL Champs, Pennant Winners, World Champs" etc.
Done a lotta digging without success. Determined to nail down the DOI on this one though.

Awesome Cobb. I considered making a serious run at that card too. Glad we did not run each other up. Enjoy.

Steve:

I think you can date the M114, at least the picture, to the 1919 season. Lowdermilk joined the White Sox about a 1/3 of the way into the 1919 season coming from the St. Louis Browns. He did play in three games in 1920 so it is possible that the pic could be as late as 1920 though I doubt it.

Damn nice piece!!!!

that pic is the famous team photo from 1919...i've heard people make comments that at the time of this photo, the players "knew" something, because many of them were smerking/laughing...

Here are a few 1942 Nashville Vols Team Issue (4"x5") including ex-Major Leaguer and then Manager Larry Gilbert. I had never seen cards from this set and it was produced "during" the war.

Peter, great picture, gotta love the Brooklyn checkered jerseys. As a dentist I have always liked Stengel (as that was his chosen career path prior to making good in the Major Leagues.)
