t206 value estimator

Over a year ago I downloaded a T206 value estimator which was developed by a former frequent contributor of the board named Trae(I haven,t seen him post in a while) assisted by other board members. I was just wondering how close are the prices that were listed then now as we have all seen the values go up. I am also wondering if the value estimator has ever been updated. It was an excellent and I appreciate all the hard work that went into it. CN |

I think that PSA 4 Southern Leaguers have increased quite a bit recently. |

Mike, Yes, you are correct. HOFer's have jumped a bit also. My bad, I was just referencing commons. SLer's and HOFer's are what someone will pay if they want it bad enough. |

...what I missed. I haven't been in the market for SGC 60/PSA 5 graded T206 HOFers in awhile, but I just did a quick search of completed listings on ebay, and some of these prices are approximately 3x higher than just a year ago. Anybody have any theories? A bubble? A shift? What? |

Yup, amazing from just last year isn't it? Next jump will be 4's. People won't be able to afford 5's anymore and will be forced to pay higher prices for 4's because of the competition. Just tonight a PSA 3 M. Brown protrait went for $177. A PSA 3 Chance portrait with a very creased corner went for $132.. But just an hour later I picked up a much nicer PSA 4 MC (all the name showing but tight on the bottom) for $123.00. |

I am glad I grabbed as many 5's as I could a couple of years back, but it makes me regret a little a few of the 5's and even 6's I let go in order to get additional card funds. |

On February 6, 2006, an SGC 60 Huggins (Portrait) sold for $329.00. So, on that basis, I can see why someone might have gotten a good deal on your Huggins last night. But, in my opinion, getting over $200 for that card is still a good sale and is a price that is meaningfully higher than you would have gotten last year at this time. |

I agree, I was saying most of it in jest. It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. |

The board is no doubt weaker in your absence. Even if you cannot be an active participant in the vintage card market, you can certainly be an active participant on the Board. |

you're right about the lower graded cards likely seeing an increase in price. im in the 3-4 range, and ive seen cards go above its expected value (whatever gauge you may be using). disheartening for us poor folk trying to get what scraps of pre war cards they can get....so, my focus has been more on cards with paper loss on the back and those with writing (as these cards go under value despite their clean front). |

...used to be that 4's were the best buys in the market. I would snatch up any T206 cards graded a 4 that were under $40. Those are virtually non-existant now. I now try to snap up any T206 3's that are under $30. Those are also very hard to find, but still are available to some degree. Indeed, many 3's now sell for in the $30-$40 range, and some go above that. |

glad you're still not completely out of the hobby, the tools you set up have helped many people on this board. |
