As the youngest in my family out of all the Grandchildren, I was exposed to many things that were a little before my time, be it Music, or Entertainment. One of my favorite things would be when I was able to see reruns of Dean Martin's old Celebrity Roasts. In stark contrast's to the "Roasts" of today, Martin's were nothing but class, and playful jokes and banter against each other, and I find myself always rewatching them for a laugh or to see If I can pick up on something I missed. One of my favorite moments was when Don Rickles got up to roast Frank Sinatra. Probably the only comedian who could've gotten away with those Jokes against Frank. Below is exactly what I'm talking about.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMJiCKiOSUo As a side note the Sinatra/Rickles dynamic has to be one of my favorites as you can truly see in any appearance they had together or any time Rickles spoke of him after Sinatra's passing, the love and respect the two had for one another.

Its amazing the racial jokes they got away and no one seemed insulted. Todays cancel culture would have a field day.

Rickles wouldn't have made it out of the venue, if it was 2021!

The new ones are filthy.
I’m appalled at what they think is funny now. And that they are broadcast on Comedy Central with very little censorship on the content. Gross! The Dean Martin roasts are playful and funny.

I loved Dean Martin's TV show, along with the roasts.
The beautiful girls he had working on his show were called "The Gold Diggers", If I remember correctly. Also not P. C. |
