Default Original 1914 1915 Cracker Jack box

I know of 1 original CJ box from these years that is owned by a collector in Japan.
Does anyone have any other info on the boxes from these 2 years? Ive read in a couple articles that they did not have the Sailor and dog until 1918 or so. Ive also heard that the Sailor and dog were indeed on the boxes that included the 1915 cards for at least some period of time.
Are there any photos (all sides) out there of the boxes from these years? size? etc.

Here is a picture of a poster for the set that shows the box the cards came in. This is the front and back of the poster. Don't have pictures of the actual box.

I once had a cabinet photograph of a vender selling Cracker Jacks with stacks of boxes and the cards on display. I don't have the scan anymore but I posted it on the forum about 10-15 years ago when I bought it so you might be able to dig it up somewhere online.

I have a portion of an embossed side panel to a CJ shipping container. I’ve dated it to 1912-1922.

Thats the best photo Ive seen so far displaying the actual card inside and the box that it came in. Although its zoomed way in and blurry, it seems as though the boxes are extremely small compared to others I see of the same period. Were there different size boxes with different prizes other than cards during these 2 years also?

I am pretty sure it is also Wagner that is being displayed. I remember researching it quite a bit when I owned it.

I haven't been to the HOF since I was a little kid but I remember they had unopened Cracker Jack boxes when I visited and some kind of X-Ray that supposedly showed the card inside.

So, is the printing on the back of the 1914 box backwards from 1915?

Happy to see this thread I've been wondering about the year of mine for a while. Cool that the main panel is the same as the baseball period boxes from the newspapers. A collector friend told me a while ago he thought it was from about 1917-18 and I finally did some research and found that the first use of the line supporting their marshmallow product, "One taste invites another" was from 1916. Pretty close. (sorry for ginormous pics).

Great stuff! Amazing pieces of baseball and American history.
Does anyone know the measurements for the boxes of those 2 years? I ordered a replica to display with my other CJ memorabilia, but the box is tiny and there is no coupon offer anywhere on it.
Lets keep this thread going, love it.
