Early 80's Atlanta Braves all-
I'm was needing some assistance in identifying exactly what year this ball might be from. (Just for personal documentation.) I was given the ball directly by one of the players that has signed it. Glenn Hubbard of the Atlanta Braves, gave the ball to me, as his parents lived next door to my grandmother while I was growing up. He visited from time to time, and although several times I got individual cards signed by him...he offered up this ball without me even asking for it. (Was pretty excited, as I was "probably" somewhere in the 7 to 10 year old range.) So, that's my dilemma...I don't know exactly what year the ball is from..and was hoping all of the super baseball fans could assist..by me sharing some of the signatures on the ball.
1. I know it is probably somewhere between 1982 and 1986, as I got the ball when I was under the age of 10. 2. There are only 3 names I can recognize for sure.... a. Glenn Hubbard b. Dale Murphy c. Steve Bedrosian 3. Ultimately I would just like to be able to definitively say that this ball is from year xxxx! 4. Value? I know its not the 1927 Yankees, but just wondering if theres a market value for such a ball? Thanks!!! Last edited by Filthy; 03-17-2016 at 09:38 AM. |

I narrowed it down for you. Bedrosian's last year in Atlanta was 1985. He joined the Philadelphia Phillies in 1986 and Pete Falcone only pitched in Atlanta in 1983 and 1984. He retired after the 1984 season. So, 1983 or 1984 based off of those two players.

Well that was quick. So, that leaves either 1983 or 1984?

Sweet Ball by the way! I used to watch them on TV back in the day when it was WTBS. Dale Murphy was one of favorites during the 1980's.

Some other signatures I see on there are: Rafael Ramirez, Gene Garber, Rick Mahler, Craig McMurty, Bob Watson, Bruce Benedict, Rick Camp.
And all those players played on the 1983 and 1984 Braves as the previous poster already identified. Sorry I can't narrow it down any further for you but hopefully that helps you identify some more signatures. And as a Braves fan I agree that is a sweet ball! |

Also see Albert Hall (81-88), Terry Harper (80-86), Chris Chambliss (80-86).
The last photo shows: Terry Forster (83-85) Glenn Hubbard (78-87) Donnie Moore (82-84) Alex Trevino (84) Bob Watson (82-84) I'd say this ball is from 1984. |

the very top signature in the first photo is Bob Horner
as far as value is concerned, I'm sure the sentimental value derived from the memories in getting this far outway any monetary value Last edited by roarfrom34; 03-19-2016 at 05:43 AM. |
