Default 1963 Pepsi - Colt .45s

An unbelievably gorgeous set, and kinda/sorta attainable in high enough grade for all but the Warwick. That one will cost you. I think I have the second-highest graded of that card, and I hate buying PSA cards. "I saw it in the window, and just couldn't resist," as Scarlett said.

Anyone on here actually seen, with their own eyeballs, the Bateman card? I did at the National in 2018, I think it was literally the last table I stopped at on my way out of the National, to Lyft to the airport.

I remember thinking, ". . . Dude has a Texas Chaparrals jersey? That's pretty random. Maybe he'll have a Bateman."

Now, I didn't really believe he would, but I *did* say that to myself. Well, damn if he didn't. It had the schedule clipped off, as I've heard every one of the 18 or so verified copies all have. I may be high on that number. But he had one in a PSA holder.

Anyone else seen a Bateman? Anyone also broken the only rule I really try to keep? "Don't start a set you know you can't finish." I'm pretty strict on "Master Set" so the Bateman card is a requirement.

Any input, much appreciated!
Chuck

I hadn't seen the full panel Bateman, didn't know it existed, thanks for the info. Listed as "possibly unique" . . . about as much a soft-sell as I can recall in an auction book.

The entire story, at least as much as the author knew, is here. Pretty interesting, if you find ultra-obscure one-city issue cards interesting.

Love this set. Don't expect to ever own a Bateman but always enjoy picking up another hit to my set. Mine aren't high grade but I do have this very cool "Rusty" Rusty Staub example.

Hi Chuck. Not only have I seen on, but I own one. Last I looked, it is the only once graded by SGC. It graded authentic.

I believe the full panel Bateman was an REA auction win a year or so ago.
