Not a fan of cutting up jerseys, but if you need to lose a Maravich, this one doesn't hurt as much as it could. Final year and not even half a season's worth of games with the Celts.

And why would you cut up a green road jersey and then put a photo of Pistol wearing a home white Celtics jersey on the card?

it's hard to watch, God forgive them, they know not what they do, wrecking a piece of sports history for a stupid little card that no one is going to care about.

It's a shame to lose a piece of memorabilia like that. I don't mind the new stuff cut up because most players wear multiple jerseys a year now and the key ones usually go to the Hall of Fame.

Stories like this make me wish they hadn't caught those guys selling fake game-used jerseys to the card companies.

From a technical stand point, I thought the video was very interesting. I had wondered how those kind of cards were created, now I know. Thanks for posting it!

Totally ridiculous. I think what may be even more ridiculous is a piece being offered in the current Goldin Auction. It's a remnant of MJ's shorts from his time at NC that had been cut up to create some of these types of cards. Half a pair of shorts and the waistband. Good luck with that one, you can have it!

I think I just threw up a little in my mouth...

That being said I still will never forgive the In The Game company for destroying the only known pair of Georges Vezina pads for their stupid little cards, look it up it will make you sick (even if you aren't a hockey fan)! I wasn't much of a buyer prior to that but I will never purchase any of their products after hearing that.

Love it or hate it, the jersey cards are here to stay.

I don't agree with the whole concept either, but as long as people keep buying them the card companies will keep cutting them up.

The one bonus to cutting up jerseys is if you are the owner of another Maravich jersey, your jersey is now worth more.

I believe I own Steve Carltons only White Sox jersey from 1986. He was signed at the end of the season for a couple months and appeared in only 10 games. Leaf cut up his road jersey and I own his full home uniform.
