Default What a F-ing joke

This disgusting example of an e107 Cy young sold in Goldin on February 1, 2021 for $22,140. So, $1,500,000 seems like a reasonable ask from PWCC and the D-Bag who owns this card. At least, for once, it’s not bad actions or altered cards.

Disgusting example...?
It's a tough card and I'd enjoy it just fine in that condition.
Also, many people put up a selling number they know they won't get and aren't trying to get. Not sure why they want their cards advertised, but they do.

That must be the "I really don't want to sell but will if you're willing to pay this crazy price" price. I've got a few like that listed (not in the million dollar range mind you)

The exhiliration of seeing your eBay listing has a whole slew of watchers...only to bitterly realize that they’re not potential buyers, but lookie-loos waiting to see if anyone is stupid enough to pull the trigger on your ridiculous price.

I know we'll all say anyone can list something for any price they want, don't buy it if it's too much, etc. etc. But stuff like this is just scummy - it wasn't listed in an obscure auction or anything, and seemingly sold for a fair price.

I esp. hate it to see a card which sells at a fair market price, only to be relisted within the week at 5x-10x the sale price. Happens with a $20K card going up for $1.5M, and it just happened to me with a card I bid on (didn't win) that sold for $90 and was relisted for $600 the next week.

I get it, it's not my card, they can do what they want - but it's just dumb.

I don't understand getting upset, or even mildly annoyed, at a listing like that. Why care? Shake your head at the dumb price and move on to something else.

Especially since similar ridiculous listings always pop up here and there. It's an innocuous (and naturally expected) part of looking at any marketplace.

What's not to understand? You could have taken your own advise and moved on without commenting... but you felt the need to. Others are doing the same.

Yes, this.

People have a right to ask for whatever they want on eBay. At least this particular seller is selling a real card with real value (albeit not $1.5M lol). The ones that really tick me off are the numerous listings of '89-90 Ken Griffey Junior ungraded cards for $3 grand and say stuff like "RARE!" or "GREAT INVESTMENT", or the folks that sell fakes as authentic, or try to skirt the line there. Those guys are the real scuzz balls because they can potentially prey on ignorant people with moderate bank accounts.

This thread is playing right into the listing's game. You do something like this to get attention. You probably aren't really looking to sell the card but it brings a ton of eyes to what else you're selling. When people are talking it's good for business. If the consignor approached me to sell his 1.5 million dollar card I'd be glad to put it up just so anyone stopping by checks out my other items.

William Shatner: You know, before I respond to this post there's something I wanted to say. Having read all your posts outraged over moronic eBay listings over the years, and I've spoken to many of you, and some of you have traveled... y'know... hundreds of miles to complain about eBay listings, I'd just like to say... GET A LIFE, will you people? I mean, for crying out loud, it's just a baseball card! I mean, look at you, look at the way you're spending your time! You've turned an enjoyable little hobby that I do as a lark into a COLOSSAL WASTE OF TIME!

Life's too short to get all bunged up over an eBay troll. Smoke a bowl, get laid and relax. It's Friday.

Exactly. Spend less time on eBay and more time educating yourself about what you collect.

Maybe they are hoping some new pop up investment company will buy it and then sell off virtual shares for partial ownership in that card.
