Default Going Back in Time...

Posted By: Rob L

I picked up the Spalding 1889 guide last week and it has quickly become one of my favorite pieces in my collection. Reading it quickly immersed my in a time warp. It's great to read it as if the players of old are here in real time. It also has a great section on the problems of baseball at that time: wine and women!!! Abosutely an incredible read.

Is there anyway to scan the article? If so, can you make it available to others?

I'll have to see if I can scan it tonite. The section of the problems with baseball is a 1/2 page. The spine on this books is great condition, so I will see if I can get it on my scanner without hurting the spine when I get home tonite.

Here was the "evils in the professional arena" back in 1889. Funny, still applies to life today...
