Default RIP Ron Perranoski

Passed yesterday at 84. strong career as a lefty reliever for Dodgers and Twins. And was one of my dad's best friends growing up in Paterson.

I grew up in Paterson too and collect players who were born or played there. I graduated from the same high school as Ron, Fair Lawn High School.

RIP Ron

Amusing story - my dad and stepmother were at his 50th Fair Lawn HS reunion and she asked why Ron was wearing ugly rings. They were his WS rinds as a player...

My first glove as a little leaguer was a Ron Perranowski signature model. I used it for years until I got a Ron Cey glove. You can probably guess where I grew up.

Fair Lawn was a neighboring town when I grew up. The Bergen Record newspaper would focus on Ron at least 1-2x a year
