I'm still playing by the rules...just maliciously and nonsensically reposting the same card again today.

Pete, as far as I am aware 3 copies is the most of any player. Bescher, Miller (fielding), and Davis each have 3 copies. Combined, these 3 players represent half of the red crofts I know of.

Some real nice stuff on this thread. When I got this one, I think it was cheaper than the Polar Bear back.

Hey Rob

Nice "St Louis" Demmitt / VICTORY card.

We do think alike.......here's my "poor man's" Demmitt "St Louis" card (T213-2), which fit nicely into one of my early T206 sets.

Then, when I became "rich" I replaced it in my T206 set with the POLAR BEAR version.

Adam, Pete, and Ted, I think T213-2 are still bargains compared to T206. It's sort of funny that the expensive T213-2 Demmitt is the NY on shirt. Will post another card tomorrow. Nice cards, everyone.

Cobb t213-2. I agree these have been too cheap. Bought the large lot in an REA auction not too long ago, enjoy them a lot. 67 including 17 HOF, g-Vg but less than $70/card seemed too good to pass up. Colors are great on these. Bought the Cobb separately same auction.

Nice red Cobb's, y'all. That T214 Meyers is sharp. Here's an early Irish baseball player, Tommy Bond.

This son of an Irish immigrant has a lovely green background on his T213-1 card. His SABR bio begins as follows:

"Like his contemporary in the National League, Mickey Doolan, George McBride was the prototypical “good-field, no-hit” shortstop during the Deadball Era. Widely viewed as the best defensive shortstop in his league, McBride struggled mightily at the bat. A relatively large shortstop, standing 5’11’ and weighing 170 pounds, McBride was described in the press as an “aggressive, alert, and quick-witted” fielder. He led the AL in fielding percentage five times, including four times consecutively from 1912 to 1915, and was near the lead in most other years. Meanwhile, he achieved only a .218 lifetime batting average, never exceeding .235 for a single season. He was an iron man during his days as the regular shortstop for the Washington Senators, and was recognized as one of the headiest players of his day."

Default Speaking of McBride . . .

. . . he has the lowest batting average of any player with 5K MLB at-bats. He also managed the Senators until struck in the face during batting practice and forced to retire.
