I just realized (well, my daughter mentioned it) that her 5th birthday is right in the middle of the national. if i went to AC anyhow, would that be so wrong? |

Kids always come first. And she at an age where Bdays are important to her. There will be other Nationals, but you'll never get to see your daughter celebrate her 5th Bday again. |

Take your daughter with you. I went with my daughter, just the two of us, in 1981. We swam together, ate together, laughed and had fun together and she helped me keep track of my cards I was buying. She also met Joe DiMaggio and a picture of she and Joe was on the front page of the KC paper the next morning. She has never forgotten that trip with dad and yes I might have missed a card or two I would have bought, but the trip was priceless. BTW she was 9. I took my youngest daughter in 1986 when she was 5 and she met Bob Gibson and Lou Brock and we did the same things. (She also has pictures of Lou and Bob and her in her apartment and is entering law school). |

I am not so sure a 5 year old would enjoy much of the National. You might just go the last few days, yourself...and still make her B'day......her B'day is very important.....good luck..... |

And she was 5. The key is to not just do cards 24/7 every day while you are there. There's plenty of time to search for cards. |

Yeah, you've gotta know what's right and what's feasible. I've decided to stay at home with my little girl. Since her party is set for the 23rd too, AC is too far for me for a day or two. See you next year, schedule permitting. |

warshaw, you will never regret the decision you've made. It is the right one and 5 minutes into her birthday party will remove any doubt that may have lingered. Congrats on being a good dad, there's nothing more important than that! |
