Nice too see many new postcards that havent been shown. My favorite are always the foldout postcards! I need to scan my Grand Pa when he played for the local Michigan team back around 1910-15. RPPC's are awesome when they come with stories behind them.

I definitely want a Max Stein baseball PC.

New addition to the checklist for the D & K Publishing series of postcards related to the Britt-Nelson championship bout that I collect:

HOFer Battling Nelson shown. Postmarked from Fresno, CA in August 1906. I love the fact that new cards from this 113 year old set are still being discovered.

Some awesome looking postcards. I just started getting into postcards a year ago and am already starting to look into sports ones. Right now only have some modern ones though.

Default Pawhuska Oklahoma Early 1900’s Ball Team

Anybody know about this early Native American ball team from Pawhuska, Oklahoma. I have found a few things out. The postcard is a William Haag piece. Card has names of players and coaches on the back.

1939 PC from Carmel, NY from the training camp of Arturo Godoy, one of Joe Louis's bums of the month (challengers he beat readily). I liked it because of the local connection: my family spent every summer in the Carmel township when I was kid and I have very fond memories of going to Lake Gleneida in Carmel every 4th of July for the Fireman's Fair and fireworks shows.

Being bored and putting some postcards in mylar sleeves. Discovered I had some multiple cards from the old Lew Lipset auctions, all in one holder. He used to sell postcards in groups. Here are 4 Max Steins and 2 Pinkertons (1 blank and 1 stat back). After all the negativity on PSA and trimmers, its nice to see raw postcards to remind me why I like collecting this cardboard.

I don't think I have ever shared these, they are a few of my favorites.

New England League team Postcards, you may recognize the Manager sitting front/center on the first one.

Very nice Rhett and great to see them all together. Thanks to a board member, I just got this 1908 Our Home Team postcard of the Chicago White Sox. There are 5 teams in this series and I believe there are 4 different flap colors for each team. Excited to get a purple one in.

Peter got it, Billy Hamilton was the Manager for Haverhill of the New England League team from 1902-1908 (these postcards date to 1908).

Tough to see in the scans but the postcards for Haverhill and Brockton have an embossed stamp in lower corner from a Fall River, MA photographer.

Since both baseball and automobiles were both growing in popularity around the early 1900s. I'm really liking any image that features both. Thats a cool looking PC Leon. I'm going to throw a curveball by posting a type 1 photo showing Cobb and his Chalmer automobile. In 1909, Cobb participated in the New York to Atlanta Good Roads Tour to promote the use of the automobile for long distance travel. The goal was to show that the roads were “good” all the way from NY to ATL.. Would love to find any RPPCs of him during this ride.

I can't believe this thread had slipped to page 10. Still my favorite thread ever.

For you postcard gurus out there. Ever seen this one before?? I have seen the 1928 Block Brothers St. Louis Cardinals Team PC a million times before, but I had never seen this individual postcard of Rogers Hornsby. I assume this is also from '28? Anyone have any more info about it? I was happy to add it to my collection a few months ago, but I can't seem to find another example.

Nice Derek! I used to own that and couldn't find much about it. Always wondered if it's a one-off dedicated to Hornsby or if there are other players? Probably just a dedication to the superstar.

Do J.D. McCarthy's count? Have 610 signed hockey with 417 being Red Wings. This includes back variations with the same front pose. Haven't counted the signed baseball ones I have.
Anyone out there collect McCarthy's but especially signed ones?

Love those Paul! Used to own the Pirates, so many HOFers in that shot.

I used to live in Satellite Beach by the way, small world.

I collect McCarthy postcards of the Baltimore Orioles. I have 30 of 31. I still need the Milt Pappas (squatting). Can anyone help?

Hi there - yes, I collect JD McCarthy PCs. I am also building off the work of Dan Even (or maybe it was someone else) to try to document all the front/back combinations of baseball McCarthys out there. It's an impossible task, but someone's gotta do it.

I can't believe you have that many hockey ones. I probably have a little over 100 hockey. We'll need to touch base at some point to compare notes.

Alan - I'll see if I have a Pappas squatting. According to the "Legend For McCarthy Baseball Postcards" (rev. 10/26/2010), I also see that there are 31 examples of Orioles players. I haven't gotten around to documenting the Orioles yet of the images I have saved to see if there are more out there. If I find any others you are missing, I'll let you know. Good luck!

If you need any hockey I have many signed and unsigned and none of that Red Wimmer reprints people think are the real thing.
I remember you could buy singles from McCarthy at 25 cents each thru the mail. He even put one out featuring himself.

One more thing. I received quite a few signed Red Wings by writing players during the 70's. The only color I don't have signed is Pierre Jarry. Can't seem to get him TTM but then no one does.
