Default E93 v. E98

I always thought that the E93 Wagner artwork was indistinguishable on the front from red background E98 Wagners. Then, after about 14 years, I just noticed that the E93 Wagner has a "P" on the cap that the E98s don't have. Do all E93s and E98 subjects with the same background color have these kinds of subtle differences in artwork?

Here's my E93. I don't have an E98, but the ones I have seen don't have a "P" on the cap.

Scott, interesting observation, however, after looking at quite a few online, I think the "P" on the E98 is still there, just really faded/blended in to the cap. I don't think I've ever looked that closely, but I am not aware of any differences on any of the other E93/E98 cards.

Default E98 Wagner

This horrendous scan doesn't prove much but holding my Wagner in hand the P is very faded and hard to see but there...barely...Jerry

Thank you for the replies guys. Sorry for the late response.

I'm not convinced the "P" was not intentionally removed (or at least de-emphasized) on the E98 Wagner. But to each his own.

It must have been deliberately de emphasized. Being white, it's an unprinted area, so there's nothing to fade.
