Default Congratulations for losing? Memory Lane

I bid on two items, but decided to pass on both after getting outbid. Today I received an email congratulating me on my winning bid, or bids, and to expect an invoice soon. No specific lot is mentioned.

Anyone else get a similar email?

Interesting.

Lately we've had the auction cease and desist (Goodwin).
Then there was the computer down in Goldin.
Now, congratulations you won, not really.

maybe someone hacked/phished them and is trying to hijack payments?

I assumed it was just an error, and it went out to anyone who bid, even if they lost. But I suppose they could have been hacked.

I got the same email. I had bid heavily on two items and had to go back and check them. It wasn't a dream, I had been outbid on both.

I got an invoice: "You didn't bid and you didn't win anything. But could you send us some money anyway? Please add the 20% bidders premium."

That Cobb went cheap, I think. Otherwise, very strong prices, which seems par for the course in auctions lately.

There have been many auctions where I went to bed and woke up thrilled and highly relieved to find I didn't actually win anything.

I got a second email stating the first was a mistake and apologizing for the inconvenience. Not really a big deal, but it did catch me by surprise this morning. I thought someone had retracted a bid at first because I knew I was outbid on both items.
