Default Item #25: Letter from friend NY Evening Post - 1891

This letters looks to be a letter from a friend from the NY Evening Post. There a bit about the NY Giants, and the Beaneaters as well a mention of Tim Keefe who apparently was a pitcher for the NY Giants 1891.

I have no idea this George "G. W' D." is but appears that he was right gin going with the "Beaneaters".

Default Item #25: Letter from friend mentions Phillies and Brooklyn - 1891

Toward the bottom of this letter the sender seems to be excited about the game between the Phillies and Brooklyn, apparently 5 Home Runs in one game must have been a big deal.

Default Item #29: Peck & Snyder / Indian Club Exercise

This as you can see did not fair well in the box. It was found near the area in the box where most of the damage was done by being in that damp bank basement. The catalogue is extremely fragile but you can see most pages. I cannot tell the date of this catalogue but I want to list it here because of the baseballs and bases section.

Wow.

What great stuff, I particularly enjoy the things related to Treasurer Goodman, since I'm an accountant.

Glad youv'e enjoyed it. The box has a ton more (not baseball related) that are banking and accounting related. I'm asl glad to hear that there was something that crossed over into baseball with your last name on it. Small world...

Look at the beautiful script handwriting on this letter and compare it to the so-called scribbles called autographs on modern basketball cards. What a difference 125 years makes.

It sure does make a difference. Some of the pieces in the box are amazing. I can't post them here since they do not relate to Base Ball. I want to be sure I follow the rules of this board. I'm grateful to be able to share what's in the box.

Glad you like it. It's definitely more tan I though. This is also just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many other pieces of paper that fall into other categories. I also have bags of things I still need to go through but I believe most of the BB items have been uncovered I think.
