Default E98 Lajoie on ebay this morning

To my deep regret and chagrin there was a red background Lajoie on ebay this morning and I missed it. RATS! It's the last "red" I need to complete an all-red E98 run, so if somewhere here bought it and wants to sell it for a profit, let me know.
Thanks,
Bob M.

Leon- I hope it is o.k. to post this here rather than on the BST thread. If not, feel free to shift the post over there.

I dropped Tim an email also after I picked up two color variations I needed so hopefully he got some he needed. The backs have tape on them for some bizarre reason at the top and bottom borders of the backs, otherwise they are pretty nice for E98s with nice color and nice fronts and great prices. The "early bird" cherry picked the lot getting Coombs, Meyers, Lajoie, Bridwell and Dahlen but there are still some nice cards left. 2 Walshs were there. No Vaughns though, which I have always believed is the toughest card in the set.

Default DAMN! I missed the boat!

Thanks for thinking of me and my E98 quest guys. I appreciatte your heads up, but sometimes life is about timing, and in this case I missed out. I 'll have to start looking at my computer in the mornings as well as before I go to bed. Anyway, If anyone from the board happened to purchase some of the E98s that are on my want list in the BST, please make a little profit by selling them to me and give me a PM. Oh, also sell the red Lajoie to TBOB, I believe he needs only the Lajoie to complete a RED BACKGROUND set of E98s.

Great group of cards which all seem to present much better than PSA 1's. I picked up a 3-Finger Brown for myself.

I saw them early but passed because he hadn't posted back scans yet.

TBob, is there paper loss or just tape? I couldn't tell by the scans. (I'm not a big fan of deceptively clean fronts, love stains though!)

I picked up the E98 red Chance. The scans that I saw and modified of the back did not have any paper loss, just that tape (like thick double-sided tape) that was mentioned before.

The red Lajoie was the first to go I believe, way before the backs were even asked about.

Matthew- A few of them did have paper loss. One with paper loss (but no tape) was actually graded a 1.5 instead of a 1! The other ones had streaks of paper loss. The majority had no paper loss but just that darned tape on top and bottom. I guess the tape was used to hold them in a scrapbook and that's why the fronts look so nice. My best guess is that the seller bought a scrapbook and removed the cards and sent them to PSA with no attempt to remove the tape. The tape on most doesn't affect the printed area of the back so thank heaven for small favors

Looks like I missed out... I really wanted the Dahlen and I had a chance. I just had to see the back.
