Default What did Bowman gum look like?

Seems like an abstract question, but...what did the gum that Bowman put in their packs look like?

Was it square or rectangle? I'm assuming it was pink. Did the size/shape change when the size of the cards did? Was 1948-50 different than 1951-53 and 1953-55?

Just curious. Any pictures?

No clue what it looked like in the pack, but here's what it looked like after being chewed...

This is a question I can answer.

It looked like this:

Sort of an almost square-looking rectangle in the post-1952 packs.

This is from a pack of 55 Bowmans I bought for $100 back in 1990 or so. They came from a box that had gotten a little bit of water damage. I bought three packs and opened each one, and in all three, the gum had sort of rotted and stuck to the card.

I still have this card, and I haven't removed the gum because its awesome.

55 Bowmans -- Must have come from that roach infested, waterlogged Find by Al Rosen in Tennessee, I think it was.

Default 1954 Bowman Gum Example

Football....but should be the same for baseball. Like the 1955 Bowman example there was damage to the card. The corn syrup seemed to "Blister" the obverse. I opened this, in a weak moment, about 15-20 years ago. The color has remained the same and it shattered upon opening.
