Great Mauer! It's been on my radar. Hopefully I'll add one soon.

I've picked up this pair for the 9.5 collection this week. With Canseco I'm more a fan of the Donruss RC - and I'll probably pick one up eventually - but my focus right now is Topps RCs so I'm happy to add this 86 Traded. The Harper is a first for my PC, his 2012 Topps Update is the first Rookie Debut issue I've targeted for the collection. Harper has 4 base Topps RCs: the Rookie Debut, two variations from the factory set, and then a base SSSP that has been closing at crazy prices in high grade. Hopefully I'll snag a SSSP at a decent price one day, but for now I settled on the RD as it's his only flagship RC readily available from packs.

Good luck this month folks!

I have been buying Jonathan India for my Reds PC. Picked up the /70 Platinum. Bought a couple boxes of Chrome to open with my son. Picked up the Kelenic RCs ripping packs. It was enjoyable. First time we had done that together.

I have been getting back into the 80's recently again. I find myself grabbing SGC slabs and raw right now. My PSA's are all being traded when I upgrade for a cheaper SGC card. Got the SGC Boggs for $40 and now I will trade my PSA 8 Boggs. The Gooden and Strawberry are real nice! Just a lot of dust from my scanner.

Nice cards and they just look so much nicer in the SGC slabs than any other slab.

They look nice and you get a substantial discount over PSA. I just got a few more SGC slabs on eBay for a combined $30 with shipping. They are SGC 7.5, but with SGC's grading, they look better than most PSA 8's. Anything after 1990 I prefer PSA, but older cardboard with white borders look amazing in tuxedos!

Awesome Acuna. That's my favorite one of them all.

Here's an inexpensive Griffey that arrived today. Lot's of cool inexpensive Griffey's out there.

Been wanting this one for a decade, but never pulled the trigger until this month.

Not the strongest 9, but am thrilled to round out my mini Kersh PC.

I don't love combo cards, I dislike sticker autographs, and I mostly buy RCs, so this definitely fit.

I just added to my Frank Howard collection.

First card back and front of Frank Howard's final home run hit at RFK stadium and Mike Kekich was the pitcher for the Yankees that Frank hit it off of. Frank found out that a grove pitch was headed his way from Thurman Munson. And Frank obliged and offered his thanks to Thurman as he crossed the plate. This will go nicely with the ticket stubs that I have for this game.

Interesting note on Mike Kekich and Fritz Peterson. It sparked a memory and I remember hearing about this interesting "swap" between players.

The other cards are Franks and the serial numbers follow his jersey numbers while playing for the Senators. #9 before Teddy Ballgame became manager of the Nats and #33 after that.

Now my secret is out. When I chase Frank Howard numbered cards, this is what I look for. I have found a nice collection of card/jersey numbers so far.

I am not so much of a fan of autograph stickers on cards myself, but the serial number pushed the purchase of these items.

Cheers,

B. T.

Edit: One thing I will add is that Panini cards are not on my list. I have one, that is good enough. I want to see Hondo in his full uniforms and not any blocked out (masked) nonsense. I simply hate when that happens. Blecch.....

In honor of the great Blowout is 21BB really Wander Franco's rookie card debate, a ….. yes indeed … Atomic Refractor parallel. I think 21BB is his rookie card -- and his ONLY one -- but it's really a fascinating and unique set of circumstances.

Great card. I’m interested where the BB prices go now that Series 1 is out. Got a couple I’m watching out for.

Nice Atomic Wander Pete. I picked up a couple BB Wanders as well. Love the pose. I think it looks much better than his '22 Topps base card.

And a few other additions this month.

I picked up a few packs from Walmart this morning. First card of the first pack of 22 I open and it's a Wander. Got the base card in the next pack. Guess I'm done.

I bought this card raw about 3 years ago off Ebay and just recently sent it in. I was hoping for a 9. I'm very pleased and it's one of my favorite 'action shot' cards.

Cool 86T Tiffant Gooden acquired here B/S/T.
I have never personally seen a more dominant pitcher then Doc live at the ballpark.
