Default PSA vintage subs has upcharges but I am on vacation.

Two people were bad boys and sent cards higher than $200. PSA is holding the cards hostage and I am unable to respond to emails due to lack of cell phone service. Don't ask my why. Will handle nect week.

Thanks for the update, Bobby. I'm confused, which doesn't take much.

So, you cannot reply to emails, but can post on Net54? Makes perfect sense! Ha. Enjoy your vacation.

I have a 1994 in there, can't remember if it was 1994 or 1996 and older. The other ones popped a while ago.

1952 Topps Larry Doby (line 12)
T206 Polar Bear Doc Atkins (line 69)

I am sure the Doby is mine. The Doc Atkins is not.

It's mine. You actually PM'd me about it when we submitted, mentioned it might be over the $200 cap. I thought it would squeak through, but I'm guessing a decent grade and an increase in prices for Doby's cards did me in.

Still in QC2......I only know the grades of the two that got upcharges. None of the others. I won't know those until everything is finalized.

Well, he is apparently, too drunk or something to correctly spell "Margaritaville".

Amazing that this sub pushed into the new year. I had one of the two cards that were upcharged. The good news for me is that my '52 Doby got a PSA 6, better than expected. Now that I know the grade, I'd love to get the card back.
Hope this one wraps up soon.

A PSA 4 is worth around $235.00, which is still above the $199.99 threshold. So, you thought your card’s grade was 3 and you missed the mark by 3 grades? No offense, but your card had no business in a $199.99 threshold submission.

I might have made a mistake...but, I did check the PSA price guide before submitting and a 4 is listed at $197. Didn't think it would grade a six, and figured even if it came back a 5, how tight would they be?

Sorry if I slowed the sub up. Bobby did PM me when I sent it to him and said it might be over the limit. Anyhow, I paidbthe $12 upcharge a few weeks ago. Doesn't seem like it should have added this much time to the process.

Bobby, I am going through the same issue. How much was the up charge (per card) for your submission?

I proactively called PSA and the rep who responded told me a rep assigned to the up charge would email me to tell the the cards in question in addition to the amount of up charge. The rep on the phone couldn’t even tell me which cards were being upcharged.

It sounds like it might take awhile to get this email. Seems like a waste of time as I was willing to ok the upcharge by phone so the order could ship. I am in QA2 as well.

Thanks!

No need to apologize. I should've used the smiley faces or more sarcastic language. I was just busting your chops! I'm glad the card far exceeded your expectations. I suspect the holiday break is what is slowing this submission group down - not two upcharges.

We were upcharged $12 per card. It went from $18 to $30.

They said that Shipping and Receiving was backed up. And I would go along with that. Except for the fact I had a much smaller order whiz right on past this one while having been previously behind this one.

It was a $15 per card order that I had zero to add to. Cause PSA moved the goalposts mid-stream.

Did PSA finally get rid of the "What If?" loophole when an order is sitting in QA2?

A shipping and receiving issues implies that everything is completed except PSA mailing the cards back. If true, why haven't the grades popped? If the cards were merely sitting in a box just waiting for postage, why do we still not have the grades?

I'm not in a hurry to receive the cards, but the shipping and receiving excuse just doesn't make sense to me. I could be wrong.

They won't give us the grades until they have payment, which is automatic when they ship the cards. Obviously they know the grades. The only two grades I know were the ones that got hit with upcharges. That's all I know.

I don't understand this business model at all. SGC requires payment before the submitter ever mails the cards. Then, if there are any upcharges, SGC holds the cards until it receives the upcharge payment.

SGC receiving the funds before the submitter ever mails the cards allows it to use the funds for business purposes. Heck, it could just put the funds in a 4% interest-bearing account and make money. PSA not receiving payment until the end just doesn't make sense to me. Just think of all the lost interest it could earn.

It makes no sense to me either and a lot of people got screwed because of it not long ago with large group submitters.

I'm different than other guys though....I don't spend the money people pay. I hold it in escrow. It's not my money...it's PSA's money. Those other guys are terrible at money management and were spending the money like it was theirs.
