hi. longtime lurker/infrequent poster.

after i got discouraged by crazy t206 prices about a year ago i found myself getting into 1950 and 1952 bowmans as well as t218 cards because the artwork is so beautiful. i recently discovered berk ross cards and thought i'd see if anybody is into them, has any advice/opinions/tales of mystery and intrigue, etc. all thoughts appreciated. thanks.

I agree completely, the artwork from the 1950-1952 Bowman is just amazing. Being a young collector in the late eighties early nineties, it was artwork of those cards as well as the early Topps issues that made me want to collect vintage stars instead of current ones.

I got these in a trade along with some t205s. I traded away a pretty nice t205 Bresnahan open mouth. What is interesting for me is that he had collected these as a youth. He has some very nice 1950's cards, Topps, Bowmans, etc. I know he lurks here on occasion, maybe he will post sometime. I don't know why I graded them. Curiosity, I guess.

A couple of years ago an unopened box of 1952 Berk Ross was found in a small town very close to where I live. If I remember correctly there were 110 unopened packs and 10 or so that had been opened with the cards just sitting inside the box. The box was sold to Mr. Mint. This is where all of the unopened packs that you see for sale came from.

Sometimes I just buy stuff because I think it's neat....with no apparent reasoning. Does that make me an addict?
