Default 1962 / 1963 Salada - Junket Coins Question

I picked up these coins for dirt cheap (think of an unbelievable price, and it will be almost better than that ) and was wondering a few things. First off, my intention is for resale. I don't collect much anymore and mostly it is only of very few players.

Would it be better to get them all PSA graded?

What would the going price be on most of these without the grade?

I have one coin, Yogi Berra, that is still in the original plastic wrapper that it came in back in 1962. The coin is still mint, but when I called PSA, they said that they may remove the coin from the wrapper. If this is the case, would I be better off to sell it in the plastic or remove it and get it graded?

The pictures are posted to my Imgur account.

Thanks!

The advice I have gotten so far is that the rarity is there for a few pieces. I have one error coin that consistently sells for about $450. Commons for anywhere from $1.00 to $5.00. coins past #180 are more desired.

The only thing that I am on the fence about is the 1963 Willie Mays coin that I have. It looks really good for its age and I am considering having it PSA graded. The only issue I have is that if I pay $17 to authenticate it. I have to pay $6.00 to ship it there. Then $18 to ship it back. Over $30 to send one coin and if it isn't at least a 9 or a 10 then I lost money.

I would like to thank this board though. The users have been very helpful and welcoming.

I recently picked up my first coins about a week ago. I bought 8 of the 10 Houston players for my Colt .45s collection. The first one arrived a couple days ago. I think they look really neat and I'm happy to own them. I paid in the $5 range for each one.

If you have any Houston players that you want to sell, please let me know. Thank you!

Please don't unwrap the Berra; IMHO it will sell nicely to a specialist who'd want to add an unopened version to his collection.

That baby is still unwrapped and in NJ now, on its way to a collector that will give it a good home.

now receiving threatening emails from a user on this forum.

I will complete the offers that have paid, but will not longer be fielding anything further from this forum.

My apologies.

Be careful when you deal with this person. I spent a day and a half negotiating a price which they finally called an "acceptable" offer and gave me an email address to send payment. I sent payment in the form of a gift via paypal to the address they provided and the seller responds by saying they received a higher offer than mine after our agreement and will break our agreement and sell to the higher offer. They say they never received my payment which I assured them I sent. I also state that regardless of whether they received it or not we already had a verbal in place and should honor it or at least contact me before moving on to find out if i'm still interested. They try to get me to go away by offering a free consolation prize. I say I don't want a consolation prize, I want what we agreed on. I show them a screen shot of my payment to them and they say I spelled their address wrong. Turns out they added a extra letter in their email address when they sent me the payment info. I tell them that was their fault and they should still honor the agreement or I will let everyone know on the forums that they're ripping me off. They say I'm threatening them by doing that.

It sucks they gave me an incorrect address. Accidents happen, I don't hold that against them. What I do hold against them is accepting a higher offer from someone else after agreeing to a deal with me and then not contacting me to see why they hadn't seen the money yet. I putting this out here because even after having the opportunity to make it right they decided $25 extra dollars was more important than their integrity.

I adamantly urge you to block this person from all of your future transactions.

Ok, so I guess I have to defend myself.

I had agreed on a deal for three of the coins in my collection.

I gave him my email for paypal and it was NOT INcorrect. (One would imagine that I know my own email.)

When payment was not received, I accepted another offer that included one of the previous coins.

This user sent payment within 10 MINUTES of agreeing to the offer. Items are shipping on Monday morning and I will be providing tracking information for it.

That being said, I do not like the fact that this user has sent me demeaning and vicious PMs, threatening me because of what was clearly a mistake on his part for the payment.

I did offer to send the other two coins FOR FREE and I offered to refund all of his money if it came across my paypal account (which it wont because it was sent to the wrong email) and I would eat the cost to ship the two coins he would have gotten for FREE at MY EXPENSE.

This user is demanding that I stick to the original deal when another user has already agreed and paid for it. That is impossible and I cannot do that with someone that had not paid.

I thought that my offer as an apology would be acceptable and would be about a $25 loss to me, but that isn't good enough to him.

He said that I should have had an email stating that i had to approve or deny the payment. In all the time that I have had paypal, I have NEVER had to do this. It is not standard with paypal and should have set off a red flag to him that something with his payment was wrong.

Here is a couple quotes from PMs that I have received from him.

"I suppose you could still refund me my money and sell to the other person but I'll leave that up to you and your conscience. I guess the real question will be is the extra $25 worth tarnishing your rep on net54. For me it's all or nothing, as our current standing transaction was agreed upon. Let me know."

"If you log into your paypal account you will see a notification asking you to accept or decline my payment. Ball is in your court. Decline my payment and I'll expose you to the rest of the net54 community for what you are. You'll be hard pressed to make any future deals."

"I'm afraid I can't accept your apology. Apologies are reserved for people who make mistakes and realize it later. You're willfully making a decision to screw me and are apologizing for it in advance. Pretty big douche move. This is your last chance to be a man of your word and honor your commitment."

"If it was wrong, that's your bad. If you still want to sell to the other person and send me a crappy parting gift as a consolation I won't accept it. I don't want anything from a person that is dishonest and has no honor. What I said wasn't a threat, it's the real deal. Be prepared to defend yourself publicly."

After telling him that I rescind my goodwill offer to send the coins to him with no payment and with me covering the shipping due to the fact that he is getting belligerent with me, this is what I get.

"You obviously have a bad habit of rescinding offers. Final point #1-whether you received my payment or not, it is unethical to pull back on a verbal agreement without first contacting the original buyer first. Final point #2 - you did not do "everything you could to make things right". Everything you could we be to contact buyer #2 and say it was wrong of me to sell to you when I already agreed to sell to someone else."

Due to this person and his behavior, I will not be conducting business on this forum any longer. Bad first impression that after one in three deals ends like this.

I will ship all my currently paid offers on monday and then I will be requesting my account be removed on Wednesday.

The above user still sent me the payment now that he had the correct address.

I have refunded him and will not be doing business with him after all that had been shown above.

Yep, they got it all right, except for the part where they "know their own address". Here is a screen shot of them giving me an incorrect address. They could easily go back to our pm thread and see the mistake but they don't want to admit mistake. Since it isn't their correct email I am not sharing private info. They still have the opportunity to refund seller #2 and follow through their commitment with me. I sent $25 to their real address so I guess we'll see.

She just refunded my payment as she said. I guess when it comes to money some people have no integrity. Hope she keeps her word and no longer sells on these boards. Good riddance! Worst experience on net54 EVER.

I can easily say the same thing about your actions and behavior on these forums.

If you were being asked to wait for an approval or denial of payment, you should have came to me and said that something didn't seem right.

In my YEARS of working with paypal, I have NEVER had to approve or deny a payment. Nor did I ever have to wait for a person to approve or deny as well.

If I sent the wrong address, then I apologize. Mistakes happen. But you should have come to me when something didn't look right.

I figured that sending you items for your collection at my expense should have been an acceptable apology. It was a loss of about $25 to me if you took it. Some people cannot be pleased I guess.

You are still sharing information pertaining to my paypal account. This is close enough and I feel this is a violation of the forum rules about posting personal information. Please remove this information and stay in line with the rules pertaining to personal information.

I made sure to not include anything pertaining to your personal information in the screenshot of my paypal account except for your name, which you willingly posted in your forum posts.

You're obviously clueless. I didn't share anything in regards to you paypal account. I merely shared proof that you sent an incorrect email address. Since it isn't your actual email address, it isn't your personal info. I shared my name because forum rules require it when you call someone out. You can try and scratch and claw on your way out the door to try and save face but your empty attempts to misdirect blame just make you look more...you know what lol, I'm not gonna say it. I'm done. Good luck going forward. You'll need it.

Default Objective 3rd party

Just throwing my 2 cents in here because I hate to see such tension and bashing over something so "small" in life's larger picture.

My opinion - You both could have done a bit better.

-Theenigma - I could see 4 reals point of feeling "wronged" for not having been contacted about payment not received after verbal agreement, prior to you committing elsewhere.

4reals - Having made the mistake, I think it was reasonable to offer to "compensate" you with the 2 free coins.

I did not hear that enigma's move had anything to do with making an extra $25. It was a couple of mistakes (wrong e-mail, and not contacting you prior to offering elsewhere). We all make them.

Reasonable also to respectfully suggest the option of cancelling the other sale after the mistakes were realized.

All reasonableness and lots of respect out the window when it becomes so emotional - sorry to see you both going through it. Wishing you both better experiences.

You're correct, in the big picture it really is meaningless. I am definitely embarrassed for allowing a new board member, or any board member for that matter, make me react out of character. My pride just took over after being wronged. It really was less about the item and more about the principle. That's why I didn't accept the "free gift", I took it as though they were offering hush money and felt I was being bought out. I didn't feel like it was genuine. If I was wrong, I apologize. I felt I was doing the rest of the board a service by exposing the practices of this person, that way nobody else had to experience what I did. Ultimately, I just wish it never happened. I realize nobody on the board wants to read this kind of nonsense. I'm sorry.

If the coin in question was the Koufax [you're a Dodgers guy so I am guessing], you can pick one up on eBay for under $30 delivered in PSA 6. Not mine, I just ran across the listing.

Ha! Only because someone else didn't offer more between the time your offer was accepted and the time you paid. You're one of the lucky ones I guess!

Thanks for the thoughtful search Adam, I appreciate it.
