Default March autograph pickups

I'm thrilled to have added 2 badass tough early no-hit pitcher signatures that I have been searching for forever to my collection:
George Mogridge and Claude Hendrix.

These came to me via net54's board member Steve Salem.
If you haven't checked out Steve's recent post in the BST offering about 700 Deadball rare autographs for sale, I encourage you to do so. Steve has been a tremendous help to me in the providing exemplars that he has accumulated during his long-time commitment to collecting signatures of players of the Deadball era.

Prior to the recent addition of the Negro League no-hit pitchers, I had whittled my want list down to 17 no-hit pitchers. To be able to add two ultra-challenging early sigs like this at the same time is truly remarkable.
Thank you Steve!!

Congrats Tom! More great pickups.
BTW, I think that your 1919 White Sox Hervey McClellan originated from the same hotel sign in sheet that my Charlie "Many Hit" Robertson signed cut came from.

Charlie Robertson is famous for hurling his perfect game in 1922 against the DET Tigers. This was also the first time that the expression "perfect game" was used to describe a game with "no runs, no hits, no errors"

It sure is! I know Kevin Keating had it at one point and it was a larger cut with more signatures on it including yours. Here's a scan of it from back then (still had the image in an old email from Keating)

Wow! Very cool. I had never seen the larger cut before.
That's a real early HOF Ted Lyons signature. I don't think I realized that he was on the 1919 White Sox...

Lyons? He wasnt on the 1919 team, this is an early 20s signed piece probably 1923 since Bill Barrett is on it, so Lyons rookie season

Now it all makes sense.
You obviously simply were referencing that Hervey McClellan was on the 1919 CWS team, not that the cut originated from a larger cut in 1919.

Just got 2 auto'ed balls authenticated by JSA at a local show:

1) Ball 1- 300 strikeout ball signed by Feller/Koufax/Ryan

2) Ball 2- 1997 Montreal Team ball including rookie Vlad Guerrero and
also P. Martinez

Very happy as both contain bold signatures

Hey Trent,
Although you are absolutely correct that the Feller/Ryan/Koufax ball represented 3 HOF pitchers that all struck out 300 in a season, FYI the ball was actually sold as the no-hit kings of baseball. 3 no-hitters for Feller, 7 for Ryan (0n sweet spot) and Koufax 4 no-hitters.

Default New autos

Scott- thank you for telling me. That's why I typically stick with cards
Both are wonderful balls, once I get the LOAs from James Spence I'll likely
sell. Thanks again, Trent
