Default Dick Stuart a.k.a. Dr. Strangeglove BOOK COVERS!

Wondering if I should have picked this up? It is really too new for me, but I have not seen these before. Are these common? "Your Favorite Stars" "Dick Stuart"

Thank you,
Shawn

Hi-
I had a single Maris that I got about 60.00 for if I remember correctly. If the price is right (under 40.00) you should grab it. I could be way off base however, so hopefully someone else will chime in with additional information.

I always wanted to add those to the Standard Catalog (back when we included a lot of non-card memorabilia), but could never get a handle on the checklist.

They don't become available very often, from my observations, so if Stuart or the Pirates are a personal favorite, I'd get them while you can. I agree that $40 seems about right.

Bob- The Stuarts probably didn't sell too well. Parents were afraid their kids would drop the books.

Default Great pickup!

Any idea what other covers exist? I've never seen this issue before, but Bob's comments have me wondering what other covers might be out there. Do you know who else might be represented in this issue?

Shawn-
Great pickup! Getting it in its original packaging is icing on the cake.
JLange-
I owned a Maris at one time. That is the only other player I have seen but I have heard rumors that there are more out there. Hopefully others can chime in with additional examples.

I used to have some notes, photocopies, etc. I know there was a Mantle, and seem to recall at least a couple of Detroit Tigers. All my source material was trashed by the company after I left F+W.

Not sure what it means... But there is the # 16 above Dick Stuarts name? Is this a checklist number? With the known issues maybe we can discern an "at least number" in the series.....

A long while back I remember reading a quote by Stuart, or someone quoting him, that he wore his pants so "tight" because it looked so "bitchin'". or some word to that effect.
