Default Help with photo (Glove, Uniform) date

Posting this pic for a friend who's grandfather used to be a batboy for the Philadelphia A's and wants to pinpoint the date of the photo.
Hopefully the glove and uniform style will provide the answer.
He has some great newspaper articles on his great-grandfather hosting guys like Shibe and George Reach in his stadium box seats during games.

That's a tough call, but I would guess before 1912 since that was the last season the A's wore sun collars. Also the A on the front doesn't match up with the players A and the socks are different also.

Also with my experience with White Sox jerseys, the batboy or mascot uniforms don't always match up perfectly with the players uniforms. Maybe a glove expert could help.

I like the way he's got his belt-buckle off to the side just like the big guys.

Thanks for taking the time to check this thread.
That uniform collar information will probably help a lot!
Hopefully a glove expert will chime in.

Kawika, good eye! I didn't pay attention to that detail.

Here are a couple of photos of the same kid.

well if he knows when his grandfather was born, id say add about 8-10 years to it and there you go... my guess is early 1900's but that is purely a guess.

It's next to impossible to precisely date a photo based on a kid's glove or other piece of equipment because the styles didn't change nearly as regularly as the adult models did. That said, I'd put my vote on the 1910 era, plus or minus a few years.
