Maybe it's because it's a BGS 10 from the tougher of the two Beckett Grading companies. Perhaps a 10 from the other one wouldn't have gone for as much. |

I agree that there is usually no discernible difference between a 9 and a 10. But in this case there is a difference. The 9 has nice black borders. The 10 seems to have a lot of white showing, especially on the upper left edge. I think you could easily tell these two cards apart outside their holders, and condition-conscious collectors would pick the 9 every time. |

A substantial percentage of the PSA 10s in the world are PSA 9s that were resubmitted, or were "bumped" by PSA in the days it was doing that sort of thing as a favor to dealers. Only in America. By the way, how can a card be better than Mint? Still a mystery to me. |
