Default Help with PSA/DNA "Questionable Authenticity"

Good morning everyone. I recently sent some autographed cards that I obtained myself during Spring Training in FL many years ago. I sent a Greg Maddux, Chipper Jones, and Kirby Puckett. All nice autos and I just wanted to get them slabbed as Authentic. I thought it would be a slam dunk - after all, I DID obtain them in person. I checked the status of my submission yesterday and the result was "Questionable Authenticity". Do I have any recourse here, or is this just part of the gamble of submitting something to be graded/authenticated? Sorry if this has already been discussed ad nauseam, but this is all new to me. Thanks!

This is a fairly common problem. Remember they are giving their opinion. If their opinion is that they aren't sure, you get QA. Not going to debate merits of getting items certed/value of TPAs. Been there, done that. I dont care for them, others do. To each his own.
I have heard that many people in your situation will submit a second time, submit to a different company, or not do it at all and just enjoy them without the cert. No wrong answer really.

Thanks for your reply and yeah, I was afraid of that. I just thought it would be cool to pass them on to my son with it slabbed and authenticated. But after this experience, I'm not going to resubmit to PSA or another company just to let some other Joe Blow Authenticator tell me my authentic autograph is "Questionable", then take my money. I do get it from their perspective, though. The guy wasn't there when I got the autographs, and I know how much fraud is going on in this industry, so he has to err on the side of caution.

I dont disagree. They def should be erring on the side of caution. My issues with them have nothing to so with this scenario at all.
I see a lot of people complain about this happening with IP graphs as often they are rushed and perhaps a bit more atypical. It stands to reason that they are therefore harder for them to feel comfortable with saying is real.

I think they give the QA for autographs they do not believe are real. So items that are fakes or traced all come back with the QA.

From what i recall they have just 3 responses. Authentic, obviously, for those they think are authentic. Not Authentic for those the deem not authentic. Questionable Authenticy for those they are not sure of.
Its been a while since i submitted anything so its possible things have changed, but that is the last i recall

This happened to me with some Mike Trout, Clayton Kershaw etc that I got in spring training. Even though I know and explained when and how I got them. I did submit a 2nd time and they passed. I am still having trouble with Miguel Cabreras I got signed through the Detroit Tigers foundation when he signed for them back in the day and also a barry Bonds I got in person outside Scottsdale stadium. They do the best they can but nobody is infallible. I happen to like the slab for physical protection and since I am older should my heirs decide to sell them it definitely helps though that may be unfortunate.

I have only submitted maybe 50 autographs mostly to PSA since they are here in my town and turnaround times used to be quick. I have only once gotten a questionable response. Along with that response I got a refund saying if they cannot say yes or no they would not charge.
Oh and for the record it was an Allen Iverson first game ticket. Signed just after in late April 1996, like many popular players his signature changed after he began to get so many requests. Since I know its good and it didn't cost me anything but time and effort It doesn't bother me.
